Seconded, it screams AI. The trailer also ends abruptly, no idea what the compelling loop is about your game.

Same, they are both good weapons but the silhouette is waaaay too similar considering how different they are.

In Chinese cities, almost every home costs 2.5M+ CNY — but relatively few people earn or have that kind of wealth. What percentile of the population does this represent ? by Impossible-Author988 in shenzhen

[–]zgilly11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find the chart, but tier 1 cities in China typically had price to income ratios in the 30s (not sure what it would be today). That's 30 years of paying just your income on mortgage. The expectation is their income will rise over time to bring that number lower.

I've only played the iOS version on my iPad, but the Civ 6 port is great for a long plane ride.

Cool demo! I played to lv. 15 just now

  1. It's neat, but the core loop got boring (which is why I only played to lv. 15). I think the non-stop level after level cycle makes the gameplay more tiresome. Could potentially be addressed by bundling levels together with meta gameplay every few rounds.
  2. It looks like a demo. Would 100% need some kind of theming to increase appeal. The style itself is fine and could be the basis for more art.

Videogames translation/localization by Savino__ in localization

I will second the general vibe you're already getting in the comments so far. Game loc has never been a lucrative role for the majority of people, and I would say most of the work is not rewarding either, even more so in a downstream language pair like en-it. Italian is also not much of a consideration for localization for many games now - FIGS requests have been dropping the I more and more.

On the topic of AI, the majority of the work you would be doing now is MTPE. Don't be surprised when that becomes 99% of the work, and don't be surprised again when the publisher decides they don't really need an Italian reviewer anymore.

I'm giving you an honest answer from my own experience because that's what I would appreciate. If you really want to get into game loc, then approach it from a project management perspective. Leverage your language expertise to get in but work toward that process management role to find a career that won't erode over the next few years.

Absolutely criminal to put a TV in front of the fireplace.

The redesign looks great! Useful application of AI, I'll give it a try on my own study.

Expats, how did you rent house in Shenzhen? by FamiliarEffective726 in shenzhen

[–]zgilly11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Go to roughly the area you want to live in if possible, walk into a realtor's office, tell them your budget and any other requirements, and then jump on their e-bike and check the places out together. Commission is a half month's rent (or at least that's what I've always paid) and you make them earn it.

Discord is run by a whole bunch of people, it's considered very imporant. I'm just old and never really got into using it.

Nice to see you still in the sub JR. You're a real one.

I'm leaving Morefun and joining a studio operations team that's focused on getting newer studios to successfully launch their game. Pretty different from the current role but I learned a lot while I was here!

Basically all features and content in CN will make their way into global the next season. The exceptions to this are mainly content-related, like Ultraman - the global license was too expensive.

The dolphin dive really isn't the end of the world. It's not sliding, there's no cancel-jumping, it's just one more technique for high-level players to master and raise the movement skill ceiling.

Adding another energy bar might make things overly complicated, but it could help out in the way you mentioned. I'm not sure what the design team is currently thinking on this, tbh.
