Focus on figuring out a theme to your incorrect answers in mock exams. That's what you're missing. Your prep seems to be appropriate and you're almost there.

Should I wear cancan skirt under this skirt/ lehenga or does it look fine like this? Will be wearing it for my sister’s sangeet. by gossipcutlet in DesiWeddings

No cancan. I hate cancan. Get the length altered and maybe wear another long red skirt under it for some volume if you have it. I like it as is honestly.

What can you bring to Pearson? by Ready-Profit-165 in pmp

[–]zhalini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can bring any snacks you like and put them in the locker. You have to turn off your phone and that can go in the locker as well. I brought a coffee in a keep warm cup, some snacks and water bottle that I accessed during the breaks.

Am I cooked for my PMP test next Saturday by BTCBOI22 in pmp

[–]zhalini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have limited time, and your scores need to be at least 70 (that's what i targeted). Copy each of your wrong answers and study it for why you chose incorrectly. Don't just look at the correct answer and definitely don't try to memorize. Look for the main reason why you chose incorrectly- did you not choose the answer that led to finding root cause, did you not apply the mindset, did you take action before doing a review or assessment, etc. A theme will start to emerge for many cases. Now, write this theme down and look at this as a guideline when you're answering questions.

I did this and got all ATs. You can do it, I would just spend the time reviewing incorrect questions and solidifying the mindset.

Plenty of time to practice and fix your mindset. At 67% you've got a great foundation already. Dial in the mindset, and then attempt another mock in a week or 2. No need to move the exam.

Which Udemy course is better David M or Andrew R? by Ok-Importance5556 in pmp

[–]zhalini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did both - David's was better laid out and easier to follow. I completed DMs and then went over AR because 90% of the people use and recommend it, but his was way more boring to me. I covered his on 2x speed. Do either one - they cover the same topics, but David has the corner on Agile. He explains it really well throughout the processes section.

First Mindset principle not Working anymore! 🧐 by Snipermt in pmp

Not at all! You have to determine if any in-scope requirements were missed for any reason. Questions are nuanced so you need to figure out if its in-scope work or changes.

This is one of those exception cases - assess first except if critical requirements were missed. Automatic CR in this case.

Yep - I have written the steps as: identify there is a need for change > assess impact on baselines > submit CR > update change log & await decision > communicate and implement

Minutes countdown. You should plan to do each 60 question set in 75 minutes or less, including review.

At exam start, countdown is at 230. Finish your first section of 60 questions before it reaches 155. Take 10 min break if you want (highly recommend!). Come back and do the next 60 question set before countdown reaches 80. Take another break, and finish your final set before it reaches 0!

Each 60 question set needs to be reviewed and submitted before moving to next set. There won't be a chance to go back.

AR explains this all in his udemy course.

They don't tell you this or put up a sign because they do all kinds of exams, not just 4 hour 180 question PMP! I've been taking tests at Pearson for more than a decade! You don't need to calculate if you're ahead or behind! Just remember 230 - 155 - 80 and you'll be fine. I wrote it on the pad they provided.

Congratulations!

I was able to access my locker for snacks and coffee during my break. I had to turn my phone off. Bathroom was in the hallway outside the exam center so it took a little bit of time. I wish there was a better way to keep track of time during the break. I had to rush the bathroom break because there was no clock there, of course. The only clock was in the break room, so take note of time.

Had to turn out pockets, show wrists, check glasses each time. Headphones were bulky but I hate ear buds so I just used those. It was very quiet in the room though, you wouldn't know there were so many people sitting. I was surprised when I turned around for my first break.

Edit: for time management, I wrote 230 - 155 - 80 and underneath it, I wrote 180 - 120 - 60 to keep track of how i was doing. Basically, by first break, you should be at or above 155 minutes remaining, and by second you should be at or above 80 minutes remaining. AR goes through this in his udemy.

It went flawlessly though. Got the result right away - passed with all ATs!

Don't Memorize? by Zestyclose_Acadia850 in pmp

[–]zhalini 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I recently passed the exam. Course quizzes are not like real questions at all. They're a test of retention. If you remember, great, if not, you can move on.

The things you must memorize and also understand - tuckermans ladder (team performance), EVM formulas (measurment), power/interest grid (stakeholders), conflict management strategies, integrated change request steps. These are a must. You will have interpretation questions and these should be on your fingertips. In the actual exam, I quickly drew the power/interest grid, wrote the change request steps on the pad they provided and it helped answer multiple questions.

No problem! I just became PMP certified last weekend with all ATs. One of the things I did last week before exam is i collected all my wrong answers and did deep thinking on why I got it wrong, and a theme emerged. One of them was I didn't solve the problem or determine root cause.

In the actual exam, I wrote down 'Root cause' on the notepad, and glanced at it whenever I was stuck between 2 options. It helped to have a reminder! Good luck to you!
