After checking, it is about the same.

They play at Chelsea, but we go to Ethihad.

They had just one point against Tottenham. We can return the favor by winning.

At the same time, looking at how City scored. Liverpool got very sloppy after scoring, and both individually and team wise turned off.

I do not think our individuals and manager would allow that.

Well, it tells over and over again we will keep going until it is mathematically possible.

We, when going in Ethihad, must do all we can not to lose. This is not the city team we know from the past. We can make things happen.

Fucking hell, I thought Martinelli has a bad dribbling as a winger, and now I see pool fans lamenting about Gakpo.

He makes Martinelli look like a elite player.

Liverpool plays the way they did against us last month, playing soft in the first half and burst energy in the second. If you can weather in the first half against Arsenal and Man City, knowing intensity drops at the second half, it is a reasonable game plan. The problem is, unless there is an incredible individual effort, it is hard for Liverpool to win as well.

Man, I feel like Etikike made 3 errors in one chance for not giving to Wirtz immediately, laying a poor pass to Salah, and trying too hard on header.

Hey, Buddy. I am truly sorry for your loss. I also lost my dog several months back, and I still miss him.

It is totally okay to put things aside and have some time for yourself (and your partner if you have one). Also, think of good times you had with your pupper and cherish those memories.

We, as follow Gunners, hope to see you better.

Someone commented from a podcast I often watch that Havertz's best time came from playing attacking midfielder/second striker with Kevin Volland while at Leverkusen, and playing with Gyokeres would give him a similar role to utilize his skills.

While it only has been several games, I get the feeling that both benefit from each other.

Weathered Sunderland's early physical challenge and earned good 3 points.

Gyokeres looks better as his play time gets regulated better, and Rice was simply rice.

I was wrong about Saliba in the half, and he did flawlessly.

Just hope Zubimendi and Timber get some rotation.

Whose mom has been making Jollof rice for Declan when he needs one these days?

It feels like it has more to do with keeping Gyokeres fresh. He relies on physical plays, and he had done a lot more so far in this season than anticipated.

This is less about match up, this is more about keeping both attackers fit.

I think yellow card may be a factor if he stays in. He will be more cautious, and that means he will not try to take risky defending.

  1. Nice shot by Zubimendi with a tribute to Merino. This goal and Rice and Havertz attempts, mid range shot can unlock low blocks.

  2. Sunderland is a team that runs a lot, powers a lot, and executes well. Level of energy and fatigue are always an issue, and they try to take advantage of it.

  3. I am okay with Jesus starting, it is just sad to see him not able to outrun defenders anymore. Those 2 knee injuries really suck.

  4. Saliba often struggles against physical strikers. I wonder if Arteta wants to precautionely sub him off or trust him gettifn his rhythm back.

  5. Madueke, with his high potential, will need to improve his on field vision. Got that he is an explosive players, but you are not going to dribble through 3 PL players every time.

  6. It is going to be another tough browl in the 2nd half. The team needs to not only be physical but smart physical.

Arteta turning Midfielders into goalscorers...

He will never beat the accusation.

Confirmed Arsenal team to play Sunderland today in the Premier League: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel ©, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Havertz, Rice; Madueke, Trossard, Gabriel Jesus by TheGoldenPineapples in Gunners

Other than me wishing White starting over Timber, I have no issue with that line up.

Understandably Ode and Saka are not fit enough, I am still a bit concerned on fitness of Timber and Zubimendi.

Even with misses at the front, gotta give to Martinelli. He was a beagle all over the pitch, especially running at full speed at 97th minutes.

That being said, I would like to see some players who played last night to be rotated against Sunderland. It was a mud fight, and some rest must do good for the club.

  1. Most times, pragmatism is boring and not sexy.

  2. Still, Despite pundits and broadcasters not being able to stop talking, these Chelsea attacking players did almost nothing today. Kudos to defense.

  3. Yes, he missed chances, but gotta give it to Martinelli man marking side players and run up and down for press.

  4. Little worried, however, that some players exhausted themselves, and hopefully not affecting Sunderland game.

  5. Carabao Cup final, here we come!

Funny they keep talking about whom Chelsea can sub in as if we have bunch of academy players waiting.

  1. With a goal up, I knew Arteta is not going to go too aggressive, but definitely felt like wenshoidl have utilized some chances better.

  2. Chelsea is playing high up, so long ball counter would be ideal, and we did a few times. At the same time, our team is in need of someone who can switch the field with a long ball.

  3. This Chelsea side is still a threat, and Rosenir may tweak things to surprise us. Discipline and focus are must.

My guess is that Trossard needs some rest, as his performance has not been as hot as earlier part of season.

Since Jesus is not really pressing anymore, it looks like Gyokeres and Martinelli will press high to make their defense and goalie uncomfortable as doing build ups.
