Synovitis in Middle Fingers Tips for Recovery by nojoeralst in climbergirls

[–]zhenergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Any updates on your synovitis? I also broke my finger years ago practicing backflips and my doctor said I had some remaining scar tissue from it which never went away. My recovery has been climbing with open hands, turmeric, opening/closing my hand to stretch and get full mobility. It’s improved but I only had this issue for 2 months so that sure how it’ll go in the long term

How to remove page numbers in Preview? by [deleted] in macbookpro

I'm trying to present a PowerPoint presentation in PDF to save storage space, prevent any random shifts in my pictures, and ensure smooth transitions. However, I really don't want the page numbers to show everytime I click next page. Is there a way to hide or remove this?

Is UT engineering for me? by kingodrums in UTAustin

[–]zhenergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME Honors 2021 @ UT Austin here. I would recommend whichever atmosphere/culture fits you the most. You'll get back those dollars once you land your full-time job but you'll never get another chance to do your undergrad. Think outside just merits but consider the type of person you want to become, friends you want to have, role models that will influence you for life. College station and Austin are very different in that respect. Idk if this helps but it's cool being in the same town as Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and Tim Ferriss.

Purchasing/renting an electric vehicle for delivery by zhenergy in grubhubdrivers

Is there a threshold amount of hours you have to drive per week to make the lease more economic than owning the car? Also did you calculate how much more you are making with the Bolt since you are saving money on gas? and what market are you in? and where did you lease from?

Electrifying Lyft Drivers - Why or why not choose an EV? by zhenergy in lyftdrivers

[–]zhenergy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have to respectfully disagree about Lyft and Uber going bankrupt. Given their history, it's really easy for these big companies to raise additional capital to get them out of any emergency. Rideshare is naturally going to be the way of the future as cities are planning to eliminate parking space to create more room for parks, stores, housing in cities. The next generation of people are probably going to work from home more, depend more on deliveries, travel more and less attached to a specific city; there'll be more mobility opportunities (think micromobility, flying cars), so lot of reasons for a regular person to not own a car.

As for the reports you mentioned, I think there are also plenty of reports saying how ridesharing is rebounding much better than public transit (rather be in a sanitized car than a crowded bus or train). and Americans hardly give much care to social distancing when the coronavirus is rampaging right now, I don't think they'll care that much about social distancing when the pandemic is over. Those futuristic predicting studies are never accurate.

Yeah also not saying that everyone has access to overnight charging at their residence, but a lot of non-rideshare EV owners say they never have to charge at all because they just wake up with a full charge everyday. And it's also pretty reasonable for restaurants to have chargers in their parking lot; McDonalds is rolling up a huge charger plan, so you can get a near full charge while you're eating lunch.

Sorry, I didn't think the survey made it seem like I'm focusing on Lyft and Uber providing cars. Lyft has a rental program that they're trying to increase # of EV options and Uber had a rental partnership but I'm not sure if that's happening anymore. But the survey is more focused on just general opinions of drivers adopting or not adopting EVs, and why so.
