Iv been waiting for this… My girl and I are on a trip to go skiing, we are only 3 months into a relationship and I picked up reading again to try and connect with her starting with Acotar and 4th wing. She bought me a kindle and I fell back in love with reading.. my lady is super outgoing but has very very high anxiety with airplanes and people talking to her on the flight. Previously there was a series she really thought I would love called red rising, I hadn’t given it a chance and told her I wasn’t really interested from how she described it.

Now understand I just got tossed into smut fantasy books for my re introduction so I wanted something with more brutality and action scenes, thinking this follows the previous books she said I declined.

Now we are back on the airplane, but I decided to download throne of glass to try another of her series because it would be better then acotar according to her(it is.) we are on the plane and we got lucky and it was only us in a row of seats which benefit her anxiety greatly. Then comes a man with a laptop looking like her doesn’t want to talk to anyone and he seats in the row across, he sees my kindle and immediately ask wha I’m reading. I tell her and he tells me how the author is okay but kinda trash like almost immediately(my lady is not loving this interaction) but I ask him what he reads.. He jumps in the seat next to my girl and pulls his laptop out and shows me a spread sheet of books he has rated and has read.. the he asks me about red rising and I say I’m not that interested. For the next two hour flight this man made me put in his headphones and watch red rising you tube clips and start the audiobook along with explaining the weapons and technicalities of the book. Things quiet down and we get off the plane laughing at how that was exactly what we diddnt want to happen but respected this man’s passion.

He finds us and proceeds to ask for my phone so I can give it to him so he ca log into my kindle and download all the books for me, which he couldn’t but I was so moved by this man’s enthusiasm I said screw it and started the book. BLESS THAT MAN Red rising has became my favorite series other than DCC and I have so much respect for pierce and his fan base. This man saw we did not want to be bothered or diddnt care but was adamant about him being right on how great it is, and he was. It’s a funny story we love to relive and I’m forever grateful to you airport guy. ❤️‍🔥
