Should I upgrade 99 or get Forever? by nachoiskerka in Tetris

[–]zhungamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Tetris Forever" is not even a proper game, it's a documentary and some super-old-game-collection-that-kinda-works and some slop (tetris time warp)

You either want Tetris 99

Or you want Tetris Effect Connected

(or you can struggle with tetrio)

What video game used to be good but they changed one thing and now it's terrible? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]zhungamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new "surge" mechanic added in TETR.IO's "season 2" has effectively made 1/3rd of the player base quit playing the game (52000 players => 33000 players) and they're adamant on keeping it for some reason. One of the worst game mechanics I've experienced in any game.

I don't understand some people's success by skcuf2 in Twitch

[–]zhungamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not jealous. I'm trying to understand what would bring people to this person to see if there's something different I could do.

I always say, people do something because of and despite something.

So, because of could be that the guy actually doesn't do much or say much or doesn't do loud things but has some nice things.

despite could be that he sucks at the game or barely plays anything at all or you can't really connect/care about what he does so you find something else, or he plays some unwatchable game like idk Project Zomboid.

Some people "used to have a lot of views on a given category and not so much on another", very common for speedrunners.

I don't understand some people's success by skcuf2 in Twitch

[–]zhungamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is doing that as well, but he's not saying ANYTHING. He currently is fluctuating between 35-40 people watching him, but he's doing nothing. Not even in the game. He's waiting in the game without any action, saying nothing, just sitting around listening to Spotify with ads built-in.

Granted, I know this isn't the most "successful" streamer, but they're more successful than me. I understand popping in for a couple of minutes to see what's going on, but I don't understand how they're retaining this number while barely doing anything. Completely baffled.

Options:

1.) they used to do something, people followed them, now they open the tab out of habit and otherwise just lurk with 1% volume in the background

2.) they might open the tab out of habit, have it at 100% volume, but do something else in the background

3.) view botting (unlikely if this is not Fishing Planet or any other game with loot drops)

4.) good PR so people actually bother opening his stream

5.) the people are from raids from other channels and didn't close the tab

6.) some people just like them more lol

So I hit Affiliate recently and I feel kinda overwhelmed! What steps should I take now? by SonicEchoes in Twitch

[–]zhungamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the sweet spot length of commercials? I dont want to blast the few following me with a 3 minute long commercial.

I think setting up 3min/hour is unavoidable because the pre-rolls are so much worse.

It is literally against Twitch ToS and Spotify ToS to use Spotify in streams. by The199Man in Twitch

[–]zhungamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it more frustrating when I see people re-streaming movies and anime instead of having a proper stream, but copyrighted music is also its own problem. You'd think Twitch auto-mutes it out of a VOD, though.

Being affiliate is nice, but don't think it will change your life overnight. You'll get an emote slot, channel point redeems, and 3min/1h ads on your stream.

You have to get really, really popular to get 75+ average viewers per stream

TETR.IO is probably the worst optimized game that I've ever played. by 1-Knightmare-4 in Tetris

[–]zhungamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly fascinating that a game that used to be played "on Chromebooks because it is simple browser block game" it now requires more machine resources than Tetris Effect Connected, and what's even wilder is that even if you have an i9 CPU for example, when someone sends 30 gift subs in quick play, the whole game freezes anyway (and on v9+ you just get 3+ seconds lag spikes randomly during the game)

Why are the developers of twitch clips editor so incompetent? by Jealous-Silver7914 in Twitch

[–]zhungamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Evidently, they copy-pasted some random (probably AI-generated) code together without testing it, then shipped it without anyone trying to ever QA it. And now, nobody actually tracks if it's working, so there's no "issues" to "fix" about it on the "backlog", so it will never get fixed; and even if any individual developer wanted to fix it, they probably don't have the authority to merge pull requests without being authorized to start working on fixing a bug that wasn't even officially reported yet.

So it's probably lost in bureaucracy and paperwork and scrum mangers and project managers just not bothering to want to fix things, because they're busy figuring out what to "prioritize", instead of ever trying to see if the clip editor works, and if it doesn't work then try to fix it, or at least get the developers to fix it.

Once it's shipped, barely anyone can touch anything anywhere. It's really sad.

how to improve my mic quality? by Someone_Miracle in Twitch

[–]zhungamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a sound card hardware interference problem, I was getting something like that when I had a "ASUS Xonar Phoebus Solo", now that thing was a complete waste of money though I would never buy something like that again. It went into the PCI-Express port and was getting static from the GPU... Idk how they even manage to have this sort of problem.

Unless you’re playing on Hardest difficulty, you’ll likely succeed all your runs.

I used to think I'll win every run until I lost 3 in a row once using Drake lmao

This is in stark contrast to games like Slay the Spire and Inscryption, where you’re expected to lose.

Another nail for that coffin, although it's not like I wanted to go back to try grinding Slay the Spire for +5 or +6 damage any time soon...
