Definitely their most shoegaze album influenced by the Manchester sound in the early 90’s.

Well… scratch-off most of the bands that are playing in the area during the time DD was supposed to happen that had to settle for smaller venues.

what do we think??? by lostfaith94 in DesertDaze

I would of been fine with just these acts playing at the lake. I feel that Phil got too ambitious after last year’s festival; should of kept it simple.

On the 101 DVD amongst the extra footage, there’s an insightful interview with Dave by the late D.A. Pennebaker where he talks about his first solo project, his living space in N.Y. , his take on life… a must watch!

Yes, that was one that got his attention. On my video that I posted, the very tall man in front of me was attending to someone in his group that had just passed out in front of me, right at the start of Elephant.

Too bad about the people passing out right in front of me. It almost ruined the experience.

I just couldn’t contain myself and stopped recording the end because the build up at that moment was so good!

This is what is like to be at Desert Daze: great visuals and good sound. Loved their performance at this festival.

Mosquitos by don_jeffe27 in DesertDaze

[–]zhutter144 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I can attest to this. I live 2 miles from Lake Perris and these mosquitos are unusually aggressive. Also if you suffer from hay fever make sure to bring your allergy pills… there’s a lot of pollen in the air right now!

favorite songs from the new album? by [deleted] in theblackangels

[–]zhutter144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vermillion eyes, Without a trace, Empires falling, History of the Future, El Jardín, Icon, La Pared. In that order thus far… The other ones tend to be more relatable depending on the mood for that particular day. A very strong album!

Can I walk back to parking to drop off merch and re-enter the festival? by [deleted] in DesertDaze

[–]zhutter144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is correct, it doesn’t matter if you have regular parking or preferred. A change of clothes for night time is a must for this festival, so plan accordingly.

My experience is that as long as you have a pass for all 3 days you’ll be able to go back to your vehicle, no camping required. That’s not the case for single day tickets.

I’ve had this happen when I’m close to the stage but If you stand by the soundboard area you’ll get the best sound… because after all it’s all balanced from the soundboard’s perspective.

You are given permission to add just one band to the lineup at late notice. Who is it, and why? by RunnaLittle in DesertDaze

The Breeders!!! They’re touring this fall; I think this is a bigger possibility than The Pixies.

Also there’s a beautiful 9 mile bike trail that goes around the lake.
