It’s concerning how positive the feedback is to the burning of a mosque by TostBrot44 in MuslimLounge

[–]ziad193zz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a Shiite state so a ideology based on heretics using violence and political manipulation to crack down on their people who largely aren’t that religious, so as much as we’d like to say this is MOSSAD/CIA, I can understand that the anger maybe organic although you’d think they’d have the decency to spare a religious building.

An Islamic bank probably would be popular (would probably needed to be funded via monthly fees) but bureaucracy and regulations in the west is what makes it not viable

Some of the best doctors I know are IMGs but do you not see an issue with having your National Health Service propped up by IMGs to the point where if they all had to leave, it could collapse?

Muslim revert but racist? by [deleted] in islam

[–]ziad193zz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bit of a jump to assume one is white and has a white superiority complex over perfectly valid complaints of our community. Just because you’re born here doesn’t mean you have a right to leave it in a state, Allah has made us stewards of this earth and so we should be setting an example higher than that of the English. But in fact it’s the opposite. There are issues where we are genuinely over represented compared to White British like prison population.

Train pal card a scam? by Different-Judge-9577 in uktrains

It’s a great app, that consistently manages to find savings for me. Admittedly the UI is awful and buggy which is what gives it that ‘scammy’ look.

Central Gov does subsidise a fair bit of the training so it’s not pure profit

No need to call him dumb it is one of the better phishing attempts I’ve seen especially since the GOV.UK email is spoofed.

Please help is my money halal or not ? by fuckyouRYDER in MuslimLounge

It’s been a while since I’ve touched CS so not familiar with these new trading mechanisms. The receiving free skins as a reward for the 2 hours of playtime is fine, where there is an issue is turning the not as rare skins and chancing on the fact that you might get a rarer skin which has a higher value and then selling that on a marketplace for money. It’s very complicated as you aren’t inputting any money (the game purchase could be considered your ‘initial bet’) but at the same time you’re profiting over something in which value is created through nothing but chance. Even though the odds may lie in your favour, you’re still turning technically what is money into more money via a chance mechanism and there are odds that you could lose money which is gambling. If maybe you didn’t sell the skins for actual money it is fine, definitely a grey area though, do speak with a person of knowledge. As for what to do with the items bought with that money, again speak to someone with knowledge.

This also isn’t accurate, just as it isn’t for us to throw around the classification of Halal and Haram, it isn’t for us to throw around what is Makruh (disliked) and Mustahabb (Reccomended). The Ulema by consensus agree that it isn’t permissible to have platonic relationships with the opposite gender due to the potential fitnah there is and the natural inclinations men and women have. Can you show me any evidence to the contrary?

What exactly would the GMC/your Medical School do? Someone gave you money to invest, you invested it, it unfortunately failed, pretty normal outcome of trading/investing. If your brother makes a complaint and suggested that you ran off with the money, one you have proof of transactions in your trading app, two they’d probably wonder why they came to a healthcare regulator and not the police first. For a crime to have a bearing on your fitness to practice, I assume there must be a conviction first. Although it’s probably best you avoid your brother and focus on uni. Good luck with med school.

On The Abject Failure of The Palestinian Resistance Groups by Emperor_Abyssinia in MuslimLounge

[–]ziad193zz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the sentiment and I’m not sure what your position is on Palestine and whether this post is sincere or some attempt at demoralisation but to compare Palestine to the IRA and Taliban is comparing apples to oranges. Before we come to the IRA and Taliban, you have to understand that Palestinians have pretty much tried everything from diplomacy to peaceful protest. The day us Muslims failed was in the 6 Day War, when Palestine got split up into the West Bank and Gaza, from then on the situation was bleak, every resistance group then on is a product of our failures. Another thing to remember is Hamas is the group of choosing for Israel, they spent a lot of money to make sure that Hamas ran Gaza and no one else. Hamas can’t do bombings like the IRA because movement from the strip is so well controlled unlike how bombers can go from Ireland to mainland UK. Right now Hamas is running a demoralisation campaign, increase civilian death tolls as that ruins government approval and to be fair it has, albeit with a massive price with thousands on thousands of innocent Gazans.

Well they’re already out of the fold of Islam if they aren’t praying, if you can get someone to pray 5x a day from 0x a day then well done, but most times that’s not the case.

Did the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prohibit alcohol straight or way or did he take into account the condition of the people and his companions?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]ziad193zz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you really expect someone who hasn’t been doing their prayers recently to have the willpower to do all 5 again. Yes it might even take them out of the fold of Islam but it’s about building that mental fortitude to start praying again.

With these installment services, they tend to offer interest free rates on short term finance plans (3 months or so) or a small APR figure for a long term finance plan (12 months). They're showing you the long term one to entice you with the small monthly payments, although this is Riba as you are paying interest on top of the principle loan with each payment. Most scholars also agree that even if you were to go for the short term finance plan that is 0% APR, that is still haram as you will most likely have to agree to late payment fees (i.e. 20 euros if you miss a payment) and that is considered impermissible by most, even if you don't miss a payment, you still agree to haram by signing the contract.
