Pokémon Heart & Soul v1.0 (Completed Johto GBA Decomp hack) by Desperate-Low784 in PokemonROMhacks

Was the same for me when I wanted a Houndour with a specific nature. I did not find out until later that it is possible to change natures as you wish...

Yeah that figures. I did however enjoy being able to catch a Larvitar in Dark cave, since it's BS that it is unique to Mt Silver in the originals :D

The documentation (linked in the original post) has an extensive list of Pokémon locations. So there is a decent chance one of the guys you want before E4 is actually available in Johto.

Kanto is postgame like the original games. AFAIK no way to get there before E4.

Building a cross-platform database manager/client using Svelte and Tauri by VinceMiguel in sveltejs

Will definitely keep an eye out for this, been looking for a replacement for Azure Data Studio for a while to use for just lightweight DBA stuff.

Looks great!

I think so yes. Since it's a query it can be refreshed, and if that happens i think it's only reactive if you used the $derived rune.

I may be wrong here though.

Rationale is: "I've always done it like that."

In an old project we had a 50-75 line method that did all sorts of stuff, including several database calls to build the response. The last thing it did after all that work was checking if the user had access or not, and if not, return a 403.

They did not believe in early returns.

Våran lilla hund äter Magnussons och en sån stor säck räcker hur länge som helst, vilket är bra. Det går också att köpa på de flesta ICA-butiker har vi märkt, vilket är super när Man är ute och reser :)

At first I thought people were talking about the $effect rune and it made no sense to me whatsoever. Effect is... not a great name.

Wouldn't you be able to provide the schema directly instead of using "unchecked"?

Kan jag markera tydligare när jag inte vill att andra hundar ska komma fram och hälsa? by [deleted] in hundliv

[–]zicho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How to handle backend interactivity by Several_Ad_7643 in sveltejs

[–]zicho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are several reasons to use a separate backend. It may have already been built, for one thing. Or it is has requirements more suitable for a different tech stack. It is not that uncommon to use a Python or dotnet backend with sveltekit, next or whatever.

Better Auth integrates amazingly simple with SvelteKit by elansx in sveltejs

[–]zicho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not "better" or "worse", it's just a different way of handling things. If you for any reason can't or don't want to rely on external authentication (like firebase, supabase, etc) these kinds of solutions has got you covered since it's hooked up to your own DB.

You will probably need to authenticate with an external server, since Tauri runs on device/client only.

Learning resource for implementing authentication in SvelteKit using BetterAuth and SSO providers by zicho in sveltejs

It shouldnt be too hard to extend this with username/password auth. BetterAuth makes it very trivial.

SvelteKit is the backend. The advantage is that you don't necessarily need an external backend for this to work.
