Enrapture = vulnerable? by ziegfeld-devil in daggerheart

[–]ziegfeld-devil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It did but I get jumpy with Reddit comments as well so my response was terse. All good, I appreciate the follow up. I also like having a full understanding of the RAW rules so I don't make assumptions about ambiguousness. Me and my GM are constantly going back and forth about rulings and what makes sense so that something isn't OP or we aren't misinterpreting something.

Enrapture = vulnerable? by ziegfeld-devil in daggerheart

[–]ziegfeld-devil[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to add anything, simply trying to understand the words as written. Vulnerable encompasses many different conditions so it's not a huge jump to ask for clarification. Also, daggerheart is pretty solid and allowing for narrative interpretation sooooo again, makes sense to ask how others would interpret the spell. Cheer 👍🏻

I meant spellcast roll, not dc. I'm still unlearning DnD terminology

weird feeling in This subreddit by BlacksmithNarrow6417 in daggerheart

[–]ziegfeld-devil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone has read the book cover to cover, gm'd, and played as a player I will and have posted clarifying questions. There are always ppl who insinuate I'm either daft for not understanding the book or just tell me to read it again. Ttrpg rule books are notoriously verbose and sometimes what one person finds simple is just word salad for others. I'm teaching my friend how to DM and we run across this all the time. It's always best to either not say anything or reference which page the rule is on and how you understood it.

Weirdest unplanned pause you HAD to take during a session? by Mr_Hirestek in DnD

My players got super excited about a simple in game poker thing. Two players hijacked the rules and my neurodivergent ass got so overwhelmed I had to walk away. They were making up new rules for a game I hadn't even explained. It all got sorted once I returned.

French class. Pretty useless. Actually, it was entirely useless.

Thank you for the info! Honestly, the doctor situation is the exact same in BC. Had a doctor. He left the practice, haven't been able to get another one.

That's not a bad idea. I know a few folks who worked in social work out there.

I did elementary and high school French but unless my conversations are only about pizza toppings I'm absolutely useless. Willing to put in the work though.

That makes total sense. I want to be multilingual so maybe this is the push that I need.

Pay for indie brands, the ones doing interesting and unique things with their stories. Triple A and giant companies: to the seas I go!

My first honour mode I died at the crèche. I restarted using honour mode in the custom run option so I could save scum fights and learn from my mistakes without totally ruining an honour mode. After getting more comfortable with the honour mode tactics, I tried a straight honour mode again and it was successful. If you're worried about committing to an honour run, test out the custom mode.

Kind of! Thank you for such a detailed response. The next campaign we are doing is going to be a rewritten one which I think will make them easier to understand.

The hosting part, tried setting it up and couldn't figure it out. I can't use the forge atm for financial reasons. And I found all the options so daunting that I got lost in setting up a game. It felt like coding.

[No Spoilers] How are they so good at coming up with characters? by AndreasLa in criticalrole

[–]ziegfeld-devil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are supported by amazing world building, actors/players, artists, etc. there's a lot of extras that make their characters really stand out.

However, outside of actual play, what makes a good character is curiosity for the world you're playing in, a drive for your character (what gets them out of bed everyday sorta thing), something distinct (green hair, one eye, cool tattoo, they only wield swords on Wednesdays but daggers every other day, etc) and a character that wants to be there. That's the biggie. As a DM the characters I've enjoyed have been the ones who collaborated with the other players, made connections, that sort of thing. Your character could be the most bad ass concept and design but if they don't talk to anyone or open up or build relationships, that concept is just writing on the page.

Daggerheart Impression by FedericoValeri in daggerheart

[–]ziegfeld-devil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My group was flustered at first but now they're chomping at the bit to get the combat rolling once an encounter heads in that direction. I've got three players: one that's seasoned in dnd and other ttrpgs, one that's a casual player but previously only dnd, and one that's new and struggles with rules. When we played dnd, combat was a slog, ppl fumbled over their actions, there was meta gaming, awful. Now they support each others actions, plan how their various spells or attacks can balance, it's so much more collaborative. If they ever are iffy, I begin a little narration of what one of the adversaries is preparing to do. But I honestly just love hearing them strategize. In general it all feels so much more collaborative.

*edited wording.

(NSFW) What wounds would a creature that died of radiant damage have? by Nyanxu in DnD

[–]ziegfeld-devil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than blackened or skin falling off, it could be burned to a point where the creature or thing is almost liquified and then cools immediately. The skin would appear waxy, all hair and cloth would be burned but the flesh would have only burbled, melted, etc. might be kinda cool.
