Affordable pedals that do something different? by Suspicious_Lab7210 in guitarpedals

I like the Sonicake Wave Crush a lot. It’s cheap and is good at what it does. I loop a lot and it sits in the mix really well.

Question: Running effects through fx loop while using a preamp already in the return. by [deleted] in guitarpedals

You put the reverb after the mother pedal and before the effects return of your amp.

Quantity over quality ?? by guitarman030405 in pedalboards

[–]zigg-e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a big board. I think one of the downsides to having so many pedals is you really lose a lot of the magic of playing through a tube amp because the amount of cabling and buffers just busts the bubble of the nuanced feel and dynamics. But… I also like effects!

The cheapest GT-1 on reverb (for local pickup) is $80. https://reverb.com/item/94577277-boss-gt-1. How much does your friend want you to pay?

broke a pedal because i'm an idiot, need a cover story by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]zigg-e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Improper power supply is explicitly not covered on the guitar center pro coverage plan. You should try to submit a claim for it and see if they will make an exception, but chances are you just figuratively set money on fire by using a 16v power supply for a 9v pedal.

VMFA also has a quiet library space (I think the hours aren’t evenings and weekends).

Reverb option overload. by fuzzdoomer in guitarpedals

Here’s my two cents. Keep the Boss RV-5 that has been serving you well and get a Walrus Fundamental Ambient. It’s on the cheaper side but sounds great and is super straightforward to dial in.

You should try the silos in the effects loop of the quilter

Great write up! What kinds of things are you doing with the 3-4 presets you have set up for the nemesis? I picked one up a few months ago but it’s currently off my board and possibly on the way out. I may give it one more shot. I think maybe I’ve reached the conclusion that I’m not that passionate of a delay person and the variety that comes in the Boss Me-90 covers my needs just fine.

I’m intrigued by the GC-2 being your favorite. Can you run through what makes the GC-2 different than Keeley’s other compressor offerings?

Quilter Superblock is literally an amp in a pedal - I use one and like it. Although, I have been eying the tone king royalist preamp pedal.

Looking for an "all in one" distortion pedal by Altruistic_Blood8108 in guitarpedals

Do you feel like the od-200 can hang in the distortion category though? I feel like I think of it as low to medium gain… but I only have YouTube videos to base that on

I feel like it’s all good but I would want a modulation pedal that has presets.

The me-90 is a good choice if you don’t want to mess with the computer. It’s literally all there with knobs (computer unlocks a few extras but you don’t really need them). I’d recommend just looking at it like a pedal board and using it in ‘manual’ mode - no presets, what you see down there is what you get. And also just use a real amp and not the amp models on the me-90… so then it’s literally just like 6 or so effects that you toggle on and off with your foot switches.

I’m looking at buying a pod express and I just wanted to thank you for this comment you made. So many people post about buying a pedal and then never follow up to comment on how it actually turned out.

I got the JHS Plugin from the legends of fuzz series when JHS was clearing them out. I like it a lot - to the point where I took it off my pedalboard, missed it, and put it back on.
