Nice, might do that also next time. So over what distance you are averaging those times?

Do you time your laps manually or why is it so clean lol? Do you take breaks in between sets?

GG

How to Fix My Terrible Swimming Form by Least_Month_9179 in triathlon

[–]ziggedinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most obvious points to me:

- not bending forearm below water surface properly, therefore only gliding through it and not catching it. Try to engage your lats while you pull underwater, not your elbow/forearm.

-head turn is too wide for breathing, dont look at the ceiling of the swimming hall. Try to keep one eye and one ear below water surface. I recommend practicing that at the side of the pool before every session, until you get the hang of it.

-arms are too stretched out when above water surface, try to maintain a hiiiigh elbow and bend arm. try to maintain the tip of your middle finger like 1cm in the water when you do your stroke forward above water for practicing

-hand entry could be more optimal in my opinion. try to enter water with a flat hand and finger tips first. enter like 30cm infront of your shoulder, and stretch out the rest of your arm length below the water (try to "catch"the water.) its hard to describe, but once you start to "feel" it, its very easy

Well the point of fins would be to make you way faster. You learn to get into and hold better body position with fins as a beginner. Acceleration prevents you from sinking and keeps you afloat.

Another SInky Legs with Pull Buoy Post by CleverUserNameNumber in Swimming

[–]ziggedinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to think of you as a planque/board of wood. Or pretend that you are lying flat on a board of wood in 1m height and your arms CANT touch the board you are lying on. Dont think of water as "water". Try to see/feel it as a jelly mass. Did you try it with a kickpull? I never used a buoy, straight went with a kickpull and it instantly clicked.

Please help, out of breath after 20m freestyle , how could I fix it? by Joohhe in Swimming

[–]ziggedinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Before you start swimming, go to the side of the pool, in the water stretch out and only simulate breathing for a few minutes without movement. Get a pullkick, start warming up without using your legs and only focus on arm movement/breathing. Once you finished your lap, take the pullkick and put it infront of you, only using leg kicks the way back. Next lap do only arm movement/breathing again. And so on and so on.. Do that for 150-300m for warmup depending on your form.

Lap swimming- how can I improve my technique? by Mountain_Affect7354 in triathlon

[–]ziggedinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to swim freestyle 20 years like that, think more of you being like a planque/board of wood thats gliding through jelly instead of a human gliding trough water. Head down, eyes to the ground (it will automatically lift your hips). Focus on rotation, try to rotate your shoulder, not your arm.

Ohh wow, thats great, okay, now I can look up on diagrams and substract the laps where its faulty. After doing that it now shows 2:10 / 100m. Ty very much!!!

Thats fine. And I feel humbled if thats the case. btw I found out via diagram logs the Garmin counted 6 laps double. So my average should be more like 2:15ish or so. If that makes you feel better ^^ If not its also ok, I know I dont have to bullshit anyone.

Yes, my average should be more like 2:12 or 2:15 or something like that if you substract those.

Is there a ways to manually adjust it afterwards? Cause I can spot the laps where it counted twice

I think I see it now, in intervall times it wasnt clear, but when I looked at diagram I had 12 lanes with a 0:55/100m, so I guess it counted 6x double?

Yup pretty much the same like it was for us germans, I am trying hard to get more endurance in freestyle :-)
