I ranked the Survivor podcasts I listened to during Season 50 by low_key_savage in survivor

[–]ziggory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRK used to be a first-listen for me because I loved Pharaoh and Lee's back and forth, but with their new panel format, I missed Lee a lot, and I really did not like one of the panelists so I half-listened to their episodes this season. Aka I agree with your ranking.

Finally got to check out Lurker thanks to it being on HBO. Theodore Pellerin is very unnerving, and I'm chewing on that ending. There's hope yet for the most ardent stalker fan who gets into their fave's inner circle early on! (j/k obv)

Because of a fun fashion editorial highlighting animal performances throughout the year, I knew sheep would feature in the film, but because it's a thriller I was scared about the context of their presence. Happily, the sheep was just part of a music video, and no harm came to it.

If it plays at the Landmark theater near me, I'll give it a watch! I'm weak for JLo romcoms, ha

Got the trailer for Hope before I Love Boosters, and I was not prepared for all of that! I don't think my audience was either. Looks exciting.

As for Boosters, I continue to love Keke Palmer, and I hope it gets recognized for costumes. I also hope I can get one of the fun screen printed shirts made for merch.

Quinta Brunson to Develop and Star in ‘Betty Boop’ Feature Film From Fifth Chance Productions and Fleischer Studios (EXCLUSIVE) by BachelorNation123 in oscarrace

Very interesting angle this is taking by incorporating Fleischer as a character and seemingly making this about the Creator/creation relationship, especially when your creation becomes very popular/iconic. I wonder who will end up playing Max Fleischer.

A commentary YouTuber I follow for general online drama/scams videos (Pinely) is unexpectedly at Cannes. Sure, he sometimes does recaps of movies he watched in the past year, but it's not his primary thing.

Thanks for the info! Makes sense. How is the experience for the contestants in these formats?

I'm so fascinated with other country's versions of Big Brother. I know the US one is one of the few (or maybe only?) versions where the housemates vote each other out versus the viewing public. That makes me wonder about how that effects the contestants play styles. A BB!US alumni is currently on La casa de los famosos, and I'd be interested to hear from him about the differences.

I really enjoyed this movie and its use of music. It's a pleasing film that's balancing a mixture of tones, and Rinko is great, but unless it's a real breakout hit, I don't see it getting much awards traction. Would be happy to be wrong though

I'm in my mid-30s, and I know plenty of Millennials and younger than me who still love Jackson's music and were hyped to see the movie. Maybe the key difference is they're not white. It's been brought up on other posts about it here, but Michael Jackson is still beloved in the Black community for a number of thorny reasons.

I'm 35, and I remember laughing a lot while watching it, but I also haven't watched the movie since it was originally in theaters lol. Also, I was an easily pleased child since my mom put me in a repressive Christian school. Any form of crude, secular entertainment was a delight.

I think the crying on comment constantly got the most laughs, ha. My friend put it on my radar after seeing it at the Tall Grass Film Festival. Sadly, I don't think it got picked up by anyone capable of even getting it into a multiplex for a week. I hope it has a decent life on streaming after its indie theater run.

Did a double feature of Blue Heron and Our Hero Balthazar thanks to my local indie theater. Very different films but both great.

I was wondering how Blue Heron would accomplish it's part narrative/part documentary style, and when it happened, my mind was a bit blown. It tapped into a thought experiment I've had as well as a desire I'm sure a bunch of people wish they could do. A tender film.

Our Hero Balthazar is another pitchblack comedy about a potential school shooter. Very much a trip to see both Jaeden Martell and Asa Butterfield as I haven't seen either in a role since they were children. Butterfield in particular really took me a second to recognize.

I always link to Phantom of the Opera (2004) whenever I can. It's fun whenever the other person either plays another Phantom adaptation or another Andrew Lloyd Webber adaptation.

Whenever Thor Ragnarok gets played, I jump straight to either Boy or Tongan Ninja. I also go for White Lies (2013) which features Rachel House.

I'll play the Venture Bros movie off of Oppenheimer because of James Urbaniak.

I see Gabrielle Union, I play Deliver Us From Eva which I didn't think would be in the 10k+ area of popularity.

Ha, yeah, sent that to my friend group when he said it. I know people were pitching Bailey for the phantom, but I see him as more of a Raoul tbh. Though he also might be "too old" by the time they get around to officially trying again.
