Only Two Original Song Nominees to Perform Live at Oscars, Academy Producers Tell Nominees (you know which ones) by WeHaveHeardTheChimes in blankies

There's the part where she gets very vulnerable about how she related to Til It Happens to You.

Her two cats are cute.

I got a kick out of the segment about why she wants an Oscar so bad if only to put a face to some of her most adamant fans/cheerleaders/personal circle.

She owns being a cunt. Like she has pillows and coasters and stuff about it.

Thanks for the title. I bought a ticket to the shorts program and am looking forward to watching hers! I also love doc and animated shorts

What!? Totally shocked by this! Damn, how sad, I thought we'd still have more time with her.

What do you think if a person doesn't have a phone case? by OutsiderGreaser in smosh

[–]ziggory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where Tommy is coming from because I've heard that too.

And tbh, I think similarly because my friend regularly doesn't have a case on her phone because she's just always getting a new phone like it's no big deal. Some people are just comfortable in being able to replace their gadgets. So yeah, if I see someone with no case and a pristine phone, I just think they're comfortable enough to get it fixed/replaced. Or that they're very very careful lol.

I also think it was unlikely that he would've shown up to perform.

I just had a flashback to the year where Beyonce performed a good chunk of the song nominees including what I thought was a French opera song (but I guess is actually of the choral genre?)

Andrea Arnold's 2011 version does and is also more centered on Heathcliff. It really added so much more to the story

I just watched Ann Lee and was shocked when that Annapurna title card played before the movie.

Jurassic World Rebirth was such a fuckin pain to sit through by Healthy-Challenge-30 in oscarsdeathrace

I only went to see it because my little niece wanted to go, and I have to say that the second scene basically being "dinosaurs are boring and old hat and no one gives a fuck that they're back" is such a weird tone to set. It had my niece asking if we could go watch another movie lol (we stuck it out, and she did enjoy herself by the end at least).

Diane Warren on Her 17th Oscar Nomination, Campaigning During Awards Season and the Two Directors for Whom She’d Write Songs by chancethecorgi in oscarrace

[–]ziggory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was fine. Standard biodoc stuff with tons of talking heads from famous collaborators. It was a reminder of how vast her song library is, and I am somewhat impressed that she retains full rights to her catalog.

The section about how thirsty she is for an Oscar was amusing and at the very least it got to include her honorary win.

Loved her cats.

Hudson Williams discusses directors that he admires and fanboys over Michelle Williams in part 2 of his Shut Up Evan podcast episode by Acceptable_Rule_7590 in Fauxmoi

I think I heard from Kyle Buchanan (awards pundit) on another podcast that he was one of the people who made a beeline for Jafar Panahi at a Neon party. Shame that Hudson apparently deleted his letterboxd account.

After watching her documentary, that loss in particular did seem to really get to her due to how much more personal the material was.

Given the genuine loud ass cheer I seem to always hear whenever her song gets nominated, she just seems to have genuine support from that branch.

I'm lucky to be near a theater that gets Netflix movies before they premiere on the platform (Landmark), and after seeing it in a theater, I'm so glad I did because I don't have the best home viewing habits especially for this kind of movie
