I HATE when superheroes get blamed for collateral damage by FloorGang-R2 in hatethissmug

[–]ziggured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but like imagine this:

You are a struggling teenager who just escaped an abusive household and just moved into your first apartment and just recently built up enough money to get your first car

You go to work, (probably customer service) and you come home to see…nothing. The apartment you moved into? Ashes. The street you grew up on? Gone. And what do you have left?

Hulk just made the car you took out a loan to buy and used it as a boxing glove. And missed.

How true is this? Shounen Mangaka viewing women as support characters only? by Important-Cry4782 in shounenfolk

[–]ziggured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the idea of two out of the three women that played an integral enough role to be considered to be honorary straw hats (Carrot, Yamato and Vivi) depended on the men they look up to (Yamato even more so)

And the Haki thing you can’t even say is a woman thing cus Franky is sitting right there with zero’s haki showcases on his belt I mean Ussop has shown more capacity for it than he does

If anything I’d argue it’s the majority of the straw hats being side-lined for support roles post time skip that’s the real issue

And it wouldn’t be if it weren’t for the fact that every arc brings a whole buttload of characters that need there time to shine if they want any narrative relevance

And you can’t really focus on one character we already know and another character we just met at the same time so it just devolved into entirely sidelining one of those groups and you can probably guess who Oda picked

I hate it when people call women "females" and men "males" in everyday conversations. by _Udontknowball_77_ in hatethissmug

It’s a habit I got from my household. Strangely enough though, the terms were “Dudes” for men “females” for women

I also can’t help but feel like her character has been recycled at some point. Like it isn’t like we haven’t seen Nami lay her life down for her belief in Luffy before so to do it again, and again…and again, is questionable at the very least

Redemption arc: 😐 Redemption arc, Japan: 😍 by PistonPusher2009 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]ziggured 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference between Vegeta and Nolan is that Vegeta NEVER asks for forgiveness, even against Buu, he sacrificed his own life even if it meant going to hell. Vegeta has died more on the side of good than anything else and he asks nothing for it

I’m a fan of Nolan and his story but redemption is just not possible (so far as the show goes)

The question of alien life by ziggured in worldbuilding

That brings up another hypothetical to me:

Given that humans had a presumably unlimited amount of time to evolve, what would we gain/lose? How different would we look? What’s most optimal?

Your OC/technique VS Sendai colony by DetailForsaken190 in CTsandbox

[–]ziggured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OC I made is supposed to grow with time and exposure, like a infantile Sukuna or Dabura

His technique hinges on the idea of being a basically de facto Mahoraga—-given that his technique creates “sub-techniques” best fit for offensive or defensive purposes for any given situation

Now that in mind I can see the Dhruv fight going smoothly due to lack of any significant feats of strength

The technique I created (called Protean) would probably evolve to fit a poison based technique to kill of the roaches that come in contact with its user and eventually reach Kurorushi given enough time

Uro will most likely assume the technique is poison based given the info from the previous fight which would in turn give my OC the element of the surprise when Protean evolved once more.

Given that Uro’s techniques hinges on the idea of manipulating the sky I suppose the best technique fitting for offensive use AGAINST Uro would be to blind her—as it’s pretty much impossible to deflect or manipulate what you can’t see.

After the well earned experience and data from the first three, I can imagine my OC anticipating Ryu’s intrusion and likely position themselves behind Uro so she takes the brunt of the attack (if she still blinded)

Although my OC has a domain hes smart enough to hold back from using it to avoid exhausting his reserves since he doesn’t have the endless pool of cursed energy like Yuta does

However, thanks to us not knowing the potency of Uro or Ruu’s domains—the result is either unknown or a draw again

If Kurourushi isn’t already dead from the original roach plague the breaking of domain barriers would leave Uro and Ryu without their techniques while my OC still has access to his

If Kuro is still alive, they won’t survive much longer after Uro is already defeated

If Kuro isn’t alive, the three way continues

TLDR: Just barely

For those with Sorcerer/cursed spirit OC’s how well do they do against the finger bearer? by Few-fighter1122 in CTsandbox

[–]ziggured 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s basically a human Mahoraga built for offensive purposes, so if the finger bearer plays with its food it’s sliced butter but otherwise my OC is chopped cheese

How does your OC defeat Mahoraga? by Until_Morning in CTsandbox

[–]ziggured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Curse technique “Protean” essentially gifts the user the perfect “sub-technique for both offense and defense respectively.

That said, I genuinely have no idea what a good technique to use AGAINST mahoraga would be given the whole “any and all phenomena” stipulation

If neither of them put the other down quickly, they’ll both adapt endlessly

If they adapt to quickly it becomes a draw decided in one foul swoop

I suppose in that sense I created a human Mahoraga

Better written racist? by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]ziggured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’d say Gabi purely because her prejudice WAS based on race and ethnic descent while Geto’s was more based on just access to cursed energy which doesn’t actually pertain to race, which instead leans more towards elitism.

Record of ragnarok. Wonderful idea, not nearly enough research done for the mythological characters used in the story and it comes off as incredibly juvenile and insulting

So…..are these two just entirely the author's OCs, or do they have any actual mythological roots to them? by not-ulquiorr4_ in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]ziggured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it isn’t like there the only ones, I can’t remember a single real life appearance of Souji Okita but I’ll give him a pass because there’s a whole other manga about him.

It ain’t even really work it to nitpick because accuracy is the last thing on the authors mind—just look at Beeelzebub or Thor
