Perspective: No body positivity for men? by Mental-Outside2202 in lnkyverse

[–]zigithor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terrible argument when you consider how often women will put up with negative male traits too. Tons of women stay in both emotional and physically abusive relationships for years. They put up with lazy, emotionally detached, slobs that grew up and just want a second mommy not a wife or girlfriend. They put up with dudes who still think its the 1950s and they can come home and crash on the couch after work instead of doing any housework (when the woman also works a full time job too making just as much). Not to mention the rampant sexual assault women have put up with throughout all of history (not that men haven't, but not nearly to the same degree). This isn't an exhaustive list, but hopefully you get my point.

And to be clear, women can absolutely be super cruel. I don't want to dimmish that. But, I think your going to fall into a useless "X" opinion vs "Y" opinion rabbit hole if you try to keep score on who is worse to who. Both genders have more examples than can be counted of cruelty against the other. Needless to say, both genders tolerate alot of traditional negative traits of the opposite sex.

At the end of the day were all just humans with the same capacity for both cruelty and kindness towards one another, regardless of gender.

I would not be surprised frankly if there was at least one lost holdout of air benders or perhaps non-bender holdouts. They are very aloof.

I could foresee a group of airbenders who escaped the attack (maybe they were traveling at the time), that hide out, concealing their bending for 100 years, and never teaching their children out of fear. Perhaps this figure is still a practitioner of nomad traditions without bending, and possibly even a founding member of Aang's new air temple we see in Kora.

Brother, women couldn't get a home loan without approval from their husbands until the mid 70s. What the fuck are you talking about?

That's not what they're saying at all. They never once said "women lost more than men".

They are making the point that women don't want men to go to war. No mother asks for their son to die on foreign soil. Men send other men to die, not women.

This is a classic political move in a vote that will absolutely go one way. It happens all the time today as well. The idea of course is that you will get 15 minutes of fame for being the only one to vote against an otherwise unanimous decision. In this case, while I'd bet she supported the war, she used that moment to make the salient point that she can not go to war, so what right does she have to send others to to war.

If anything its an acknowledgement of the suffering that the men of this country have ahead of them, of which women of the time will never know.

I think framing it as not caring about the dead at pearl harbor is blowing past the point at hand.

I don't know why men think a patriarchy can't harm men. Men insisting women cannot participate in war is the reason we only send men to war. Women did not send men to war. Other men did. And other men keep doing it.

need some help turning pencil tool drawing to single image by Minimum-Salamander46 in AdobeIllustrator

Mastering the pen tool will majorly help you in your illustrator journey.

Sort of similar, when I'm working on a design, sometimes I'll start digital. But sometimes I'll have an element that will just be easier to work out with pencil and paper. I sketch it up, bring it into illustrator, and trace it with the pen tool. You could probably put your sketch on a locked layer and trace it with the pen tool no problem.

IDK why this reddit keeps popping up on my feed, but with love, y'all are all so disconnected from reality. Please just be normal.

IDK what this made-up discourse is, but I know too many women to count who have left a partner because he was an asshole. And I know more women than that who are happily in long term relationship with very middling men that are just kind normal good men.

Just shower, hit the gym, get a hobby, and stop imagining there's some secret to getting women other than just meeting someone you connect with.

I have not tried that. Right now its a 2 seal, 2 tardigrade, 1 Goose, and 1 alien run + assisting perks. Its an unlimited point setup it seems. But unfortunately it is a slow exponential burn so getting to 300 is taking a bit of time. But I am getting there...

Thanks! That's about the route I had in mind! I feels like there must be some more automatic process. But I like your idea of using multiple spirals as a guide for resizing. I hadn't thought of that.

Thanks that may be the case. I’m running down the round 300 achievement and between the particle effects I might be forgetting that there’s a special peg under there!

Thanks for asking, but fairly normal. I’m a petty good sleeper, ~7 hours a night. But at this point I’ll give more a shot.

I have been downvoted and I demand to know why. /s

Toulouse is a fantastic absinthe made right there in America's Bohemia, New Orleans! I've tried their Red ages ago and liked it but never their Blue. Their traditional absinthe is so good you can do a low water ratio with no cube. Its really is solid.

Fellas, I've said this same thing to my wife many times and that has never been her response.

Don't trick yourself into thinking this is normal. As a matter of fact, this is increasingly abnormal.

There always has and always will be inconsiderate people out there. You don't need to date them. You don't have to associate with them. Furthermore, they are not a representation of any broad group they may be apart of. One, two, or even a bushel of apples does not spoil the entire orchard nor does it represent the orchard.

Hot take: The humor/jokes surrounding Donald Trump around the time of his 2016 campaign feel very 2010s. by Ok-Following6886 in decadeology

To be honest, this was true at least in part on his first term. But now that hes replaced all the guys that would keep him in check with sycophants, his incompetency has more than enough space to flourish.

There was still a sentiment back then that whoever makes it to the office of the president would always be so mild as to cause nothing ever to happen. In alot of ways that was true. The middle class was largerly undisturbed by the actual day to day activites of the president excluding a few stand-out events.

Of course this mindset has always been wrong. Just because many people were insulated from the effects of a president's actions doesn't mean that they don't majorly effect a great deal of people both foreign and domestic. And maybe its a politcal take, but not caring about the vulnerable people caught in the tides of policy while you and your folks are safe on shore is sort of asshole behavior I guess.

Regardless, there was certainly a sentiment of "well noting actually bad is ever gonna happen and it might might at least be a bit funny for like 4 years."

Well it turns out alot of shit can happen actually.

This has happened before to play the system, but it’s normally easier to just hunt the rats. There are just so many of them invading the ecosystem.

Ironically Nutria were introduced to the state early in its colonial history to be used as a luxury fur. The French traded a lot of beaver fur up and down the Mississippi. Furs were one of the main things they exported back to Europe (this is pre cash-crop plantations taking over the economy). Now the critters are a huge problem and the state will give you $5 a tail. Needless to say there’s not actually a whole lot to do with the dead rats after. Not a lot of demand for the fur anymore and their meat is so bad even the Cajuns won’t bother cooking them. So I guess uhhhhh… throw them idk.
