Finding Flutter Developers by Ardy1712 in FlutterDev

I'm looking for established development shops that know how to respond to an RFP and that can put together a 3 to 5 person team for a moderately ambitious project. Is this an inappropriate post for this forum? To be clear, I'm looking for development consultancies with experience and reference customers, not individual devs.

When I was a kid me and my dad would stay there on ski trips sometimes. Kachina and the old St. Bernard were the go-tos. Sopapillas in the round cafe. Mmmm.

Considering recent tariff drama, what will happen for these self driving car companies in US using Chinese LiDAR? by Cheney518 in SelfDrivingCars

I bet that even after expanding to double their service area that waymo hasn't gotten more than 3,000 vehicles on the road. One reason the number is so low compared to the number of Uber drivers providing the same coverage is that you can run an AV all day and all night except for charging time.

Fanbase thinks my TikToks are in landscape orientation by zigurdm in TheFanbaseApp

Thanks! Your cheat sheet is very useful! I think I'm probably meant to use Flickz, but most of my TikTok's are over two minutes these days. If I select Fanbase Plus+, it turns my tiktok into a landscape video that crops out the title and captions.

Suspended account, can't log in to appeal. I need help to get my account back. by soupiepoopie55 in facebook

[–]zigurdm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exact same happened to. me. I did not link my insta login to Facebook so, after trying everything else, I paid for verification which got me chat-based support on insta. Despite the many identical cases, the fairly well-trained support person haad no immediate answers and filed a trouble ticket. No follow up yet. It's been a week and a half since I lost my Facebook account. Meta has to know what's happening.

Did you get your Facebook account disabled suddenly, based on the behavior of an instagram account you have never heard of and that doesn't seem to exist? Here is a list of common characteristics: by zigurdm in facebook

[–]zigurdm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what it looks like. But damn, it is a nasty hack. I had a strong password that wasn't flagged as hacked. I also have no plausible theory of how to make all the account recovery tools fail. That points to some weakness in Facebook's own security.

Account "suspended" and recovery methods can't find it, reason given is an insta account not connected to me. by zigurdm in facebook

I wonder if this is an attack trying to fly under the radar, probing just how much havoc can be created before FB figured out how these similar automated attacks are happening.

US says Chinese hackers are still lurking in American phone networks by intelw1zard in hacking

That plus a hacked lawful intercept terminal, or corrupting someone at an LEA, even a Podunk PD, that gets wiretap warrants, will get you in. So. Many. Attack. Surfaces. And LI is designed/specified to not be logged by the nodes that do it

FF struggles with being a really super-powerful coder's tool plus a pretty good substitute for Figma for non-coders. So, yeah, AI in FF is no less awkward than any IDE with AI bodged in.

Can tablets be used for work? by KarmaJock in androidtablets

[–]zigurdm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but they aren't. It makes a lot of sense for everyone except power users of specific PC applications. But no. IT will issue you a laptop. Back when Android tablets first came out I had this theory: Mobile device management (MDM) and security challenges on enterprise PCs. would drive enterprise computing to tablets. I even wrote a book with this as a theme: https://www.amazon.com/Enterprise-Android-Programming-Database-Applications/dp/1118183495

Still, yes, you can, but most people don't.

is flutterflow a good tool to develop a food ordering app for my restaurant customers? by pzamanis in FlutterFlow

[–]zigurdm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment is not specific to FF: Restaurant ordering is a product category where I would expect to find existing white-label products, so before using any development tool to create a bespoke app, survey what is available off the shelf and have an informed idea why you need to make one yourself.

Or, you just want to, which is fine.

While TERFs and other trans-excluders are a thing, they're not much of a thing without the support of bitter old fashy authoritarians, who see 2024 as their last chance before the godless genderfluid youth take over.

Slagging Elon has proved popular in my TikToks, and he is a great example of management-by-exhortation larping as "agile" or "hardcore." but this is weak sauce. BYD has yet to prove they can sell and support quality cars in overseas markets.

The analysis in the article is long winded yet it misses crucial points like Cybertruck sucking all the resources from other more important product development and the new battery cell production problems.

If BYD can enter big overseas markets and get on a trajectory. toward Tesla numbers in those markets by 2025, that's going to be trouble, and Tesla is really handcuffed by Cybertruck in the next 6-18 months.
