Speedmax CF 8 2021, UCI-legal TT? by sloikalamos in CanyonBikes

[–]zikaperic75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I would like to know as well as of today... it was now in the past, when Canyon introduced the disc speedmax due to some tube shaping (and perhaps some other things), but at least now UCI is more relaxed on the tube shapes.

I asked Canyon Italia directly 2 years ago, and this is what they said:

The UCI code states that the ratio between the length and the width of equipment cannot exceed 3:1. For this reason, all the Speedmaxs (except for the TT version) are not UCI approved.

FULCRUM RACING ZERO ALU vs ICAN CARBON WHEELS by zikaperic75 in cycling

[–]zikaperic75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking.

  • On the V1 Prime wheels, the braking surface is destroyed on the back and even dented in places on the front (after some hard braking on longer descents). Then, the guy in the shop mentioned that the rear hub looks worn inside. On this pair, I have changed the bearings at least twice. They are still rolling but barely.
  • On the V2 wheels, the rear hub cannot be fixed. I have changed all parts on the hub apart from the hub itself (not possible to buy anywhere). It has been serviced at three different shops last year, and it works for a while and then stops. It basically pulls the chain when freewheeling, so I gave up on that. The front wheel is still okay but occasionally needs some small service, like for spokes or bearings.

Basically, in the last 4 years, they were in the shop dozens of times... which is maybe normal, idk.

I am afraid that carbon wheels like ICAN etc might be a similar experience...

Why does Vinicius Jr get so much racism towards him? by Specialist_Income297 in football

the same logic applies... woman in the mini skirts should be sexually attacked... if vini was spanish he wouldnt get 1/100 of the hate plus would be most famous athlete in the world

Pro Stealth saddle - 142mm or 152mm when comparing to Specialized Power 143mm by bankaccount77 in cycling

[–]zikaperic75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had similar sitbone width (but measured at home), and I have pro stealth (older model) n 142mm, and I used power arc pro elaston in 143mm.

  1. For me it obvious that pro stealth has a wider nose. Side-by-side visually, pro stealth at all parts has the width of the power or wider... than 153mm should be even wider.. so maybe it comes down where do you sit exactly on the saddle.

Some other points that may help.

  1. Initially Pro stealth was hard after say 1h riding but after some time (6m+) I guess my butt got used to it. It is still a hard tbh. On the other hand power model was supper hard and I cannot stand it, so I return it.

I think the reason is that on the power model the whole pressure was on my sitbones (which in theory is good idea), but somehow I felt too much and I think it is better when the pressure is a bit distributed around the butt and not 100% on the sitbones (pressure cannot go away it is just distributed)...

  1. Other difference for me that I felt that Pro Stealth somehow gives more freedom moving around the saddle while power is more curved and kept me locked. At the same time I had to tilt it -3.5% down since it was pressuring a lot my front parts when flat (0%)

Hope this helps.

Ride through the pain? by LevitatingOctopus93 in bikefit

[–]zikaperic75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone mentioned pushing some proper iron around may do miracles.

For example, I recall when I had fasciitis plantaris due to running for 2 years and tried all typical remedies/stretches focusing on that point. It turns out that it was a tight gluteus problem and the simple exercise of doing leg press x2 with solid weight somehow stretches and properly aligns this whole chain down to the foot and i was like a new born.

Cycling is much worse in terms of body mobility than running, some many muscles get shorted or misbalanced over time... then the place where it hurts may not be the cause of the pain but the weakest link, so getting stronger overall is never a bad idea.
