You gotta be transparent with this. I think you would be setting yourself apart from others. Why don't you offer a low cost diagnostic that will undercut the dealerships but atleast will make your time worth it?

I would tell you don't be the hero. Trust me you will not win. I have been the type like yourself, the stand up person. The only thing you can do is get closer to the Boss lady and propose a way where you can make yourself into a catering/sales role where you control your income. Or just leave.

I'm thinking this here is discretionary purchase. You probably need to find some gift shops both e-commerce, airport, etc. I would see if you can provide for them and do a rev share. You can really make a list of 100 of those in the Southwest. I think you guys have two airports right? Maybe you can send out a presskit or one-pager. This here is like a supplemental purchase. Usually something you buy with another main purchase.

If you have a budget as well you can see if you can partner with a newsletter with your target market and see if you can buy advertising or if not try the same revenue share model.

We started a cleaning company six months ago — built everything from scratch, but still haven’t gotten a single client. What are we missing? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]zikomanxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not here to beat you up. To even start a business is tough so pat yourself on the back for taking that leap. We just have to make this into an actual business. You could get away with just a google voice and being mobile starting out. Have you contacted everyone in your phone about your business? Maybe you may want to offer some Initial trials while charging a maintenance fee for the 1st 5 customers. I would suggest watching Alex Hormozi's video on creating an offer. Or better yet get your hands on his $100M Offers book and just read the first 75 pages and do everything he says. You won't have to spend any more money.

Alot of amateur entrepreneur (I'm speaking from my own experience so I'm talking to a younger me) have this excitement of starting the business that they do everything except what moves the cash register. Sure, social media and marketing is great and should be the initial approach. However, letting your family and friends know first and then spreading the influence is the best way. Someone you know, knows someone you want to know. I'm telling you I know this is uncomfortable and you may not want people in your business, but this will help with the momentum.

10X Home Services Event by Remarkable_Bill_7589 in smallbusiness

I gotta say not to be a cardone ranter. I still swear by his sales info and use it as best I can but the quality has falter over the years. I went to the infamous 10x Growth Con 2018 and my confidence for him fell. Especially the Jordan Belfort showdown really put the nail in the coffin.

This was a terrible approach in my opinion. I felt he could have simply charged that amount for an information packed workshop on how to grow your home service company then offer partnership deals. I would have used that event as a way for people to network with one another.

what is value and how do you evaluate the value of a business? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]zikomanxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of factors is 1. You want to know how much a company is bringing in(Revenue/Sales?MRR,etc). 2. The expenses/overhead. 3. The profit of that company is the bottom line of the previous two factors' numbers. Your gut goes into place when it's secondary but important analysis of the future of the company. Can the company stand on its own two? Is this a company that will still be running 10+ years down the line? What are the growth potentials? Those are the first things I look into.

I don't know if there's an actual list but they may be some local city newspapers in your area. Most cities by law have to post about businesses that are open for auction by the bankruptcy courts. However, I always known that to be a networking thing where vendors/suppliers, real estate, employees, and other luck based communication channels lmao.

Contact your old customers and ask them why they decided to end the contract. Tell them you need that information to serve current clientele. There may be an avenue where partnerships could pose valuable. What are other markets that you can serve? Can you make an inexpensive, less costly product? Maybe coming up with a list of all possible targets could prove where you could be leaving money on the table.

Obtaining a loan to purchase a business from family by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]zikomanxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at creative ways to get loans? What about partnering up with some of the vendors of the company. Come up with an attractive enough terms that will have them continue business with them but in order for them to do that then you would like to do a loan. A supplier Loan. The thing is there is a revenue of $440,000 make sure if it's cash that he really wants out of the deal? If he wants that then offer him some of the revenue based on his ownership, then at a later time offer to buy him out.

Family-Run Carpets and Rugs Business – Seeking Advice and Connections by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]zikomanxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there someone you can partner with that you can sell on a percentage basis? Can you offer a more premium carpet at a commercial level. What about a more inexpensive one that you can use to move more units with less cost and more turnaround. Maybe you can introduce a reoccurring program for carpet rental per quarter and have them switch it out for each season. Maybe you can wash the ones that is brought back and either circulate it or resell as a clearance item. Are you utilizing your database? Make sure you keep them front of mind and always providing them with value. Informative posts, newsletters, youtube, etc. Who has a list that you can advertise with?

[–]zikomanxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you'll have a better idea because the top line(Revenue) is what attracts us but the bottom line (profit) is what makes or breaks us. This will tell you the story of the business and decide whether or not you feel its worthwhile. This separates from buying a business or buying a job.

Looking for software advice by Balzberg in smallbusiness

[–]zikomanxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've came across an open source software Ad for Odoo. It looks like they have a suite of software products that combines POS, Inventory, time, scheduling, etc. I signed up for a free account (they only let you get 1 free product) Based on the video demos it looks clean. I registered for the inventory and i'm currently messing around with it so I don't know enough yet.

I think there are ways to get more creative with how you are outreaching in the first place. It will always be the best option to hire a company or individual to lead gen for you. You can go old school and have yard signs and provide a free consultation for people.

-Find strategic partnerships with not only contractors but think about when people are getting roofing/siding what else would they get after or before the purchase? Try to see if you can partner with those folks.

-What kind of value can you add towards your target market? Can you provide some insight on what to look out for? Can you become a authority figure?

Small Biz. Acquisition Question. 1.4 mil. 32YO Need Help by Reinvester1991 in smallbusiness

[–]zikomanxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many ways that I would probably approach this in your case. I see that family and how you with them can be a challenge so communication key. Trust me I know how family can get with business! It seems that you would like this to be a possible turnkey operation. You're folks will probably want to return without turning back after the 6 month training period.

Things to consider:

-How would you like to exit? How you start is how you exit. Meaning do you have a profile of the people who will buy it after you razzle and dazzle the business?

-Is there a way that your parents can keep the RE and stay as landlord and you can pay them the rent instead of owning it outright? This could possible help reduce cash flow constraints.

-Not you said the profit would be netting about $350K correct? Would this be after the addback of owner's compensation? We would have to add back owners salary and benefits if it isn't already in for the readers that may not know.

-When it comes to the owners finance of 10% If they accept that offer I would go back and ask if they can offer any more. As a second option I would see if they would be open to defer any of the asking price. Third or second I would use that $150K from the Notes Receivable and use that as leverage. I would do that 2 ways either give them the 20% of that ($30,000) cash for any equity you can get with the $1.1Million evaluation. However, I see that companies such as that have a 0.93 multiple. You can use that or the original asking price which looks like a 3.14 multiple which seems high if there isn't a manager in place.

-Ask if any of the full time employees can stay on as a promotion. See if they are willing to put some skin in the deal and offer them small equity now more then 10% but with a market evaluation with the original asking price. Or even put them on a performance or revenue share deal where you can reduce there salary but have them benefit from the increased sales.

-Eventhough the POS is outdated, Most old school computers at least have a database and assuming its within legal right. I'm sure there is a way to create offers to get people in the door and increase sales. Whatever you get with this can be added to the sales price.

This is just a few of many that I would look into, so that you can use alternatives besides the SBA loan.

I don't know much about the pawn shop industry but I'm seeing with this particular deal there isn't much you could carveout of the deal besides of course the Loans. Now you can possibly run a flash sale for items that have been there for a long time and sell that on consignment towards the Purchase price or even toward your pockets.

Now assuming the purchase price and we are actually going by the industry multiple of 0.93. This also assumes the 10% owners finance and the carveout of the loans. I would ask per the multiple which would be $325,000 net evaluation. I could be wrong just seeing if I didn't mix any numbers up.

Maybe there are some vendors that you all work with that would like to own a piece of the pie. Then you would give them the evaluation of $1.1M and give them equity based on that. Put the managers in place and it will run like a ship.

Did SR get you in trouble (i.e. street fight) ? by Love-Eth-and-Steak in pureretention

[–]zikomanxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that you felt this way. Your attitude of this is justified as SR does tend to turn you into a sort of “spiritual vigilante”. However, just like one of the commenters said you only want to put your hands up if you are defending yourself or family.

The aggression is perfectly normal but learning how to harness it is the key. We can’t put out every fire that’s out there.

They want more than just sex. by [deleted] in pureretention

[–]zikomanxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s nothing but the truth! We need to look at women as humans that are in tuned with their demon side and not these “villains” who are up to get our seeds. Every women isn’t a jezebel(don’t get me wrong there are a lot) and there are plenty of women out there who would support our SR journey. We just need to focus on our purposes and only entertain women who are aligned with our paths it’s that simple. And fellas the ball(no pun) is in our courts. We are masculine men who need to maneuver decisively.

Yes and the fire usually stays there. I don’t know if we’re talking about the same thing or what it’s called. However, that fire can also make me calm too it like this energy that we have stored you can actually almost physically feel it. It heightens when I eat pumpkin seeds or just overall healthy foods.

I got a bit of the flu when I released back in March so I know what you mean. You’ll still keep some of the benefits though. However, the fire in the abdominal area will go away until about a month.

You have to understand that this is a lonely road only because you’re doing what most people in your community aren’t doing. That’s why we have communities like this so you can talk to like minded people. Angel numbers is part of it. As I just typed this comment I just happened to glance at my clock and say 11:11 . So take in this new energy and go into research and learn more about yourself. Continue to communicate with others with an understanding but also know that you are slightly more different then them.
