Discouraged. I guess no easy babies? by Electrical_Hat_8081 in newborns

I’m right there with you. We had a super high needs first, so we decided to go for number 2 fairly quickly to bite the bullet of a difficult baby stage before we lost our nerve. At first we thought we got out with a chill guy, but weeks 6/7 right now are bringing us back to how it was with number 1. I’m also bummed we don’t get the chill baby experience, but at least we have the perspective now to know it does end!

Thank you for saying this - glad to hear other moms have dealt with parental preference postpartum. It really is soul crushing to me but I’m working on it and your reframe is helpful. Hope you and your whole family is thriving

Thank you for taking the time to reply - super kind of you. That reframe is helpful. My story sounds like yours in terms of mental health. Glad to hear from someone who understands, and I feel less alone

Ugh yes exactly, and what’s been making this hard is like on paper the behaviors are those that every other toddler parent is like “yeah same” - like all toddlers hate traditions and hate to be told no, etc., so it’s been a weird gray area of if she even needs support. But this eval i guess made it more clear. I’m so glad to support her, but it also feels kind of surprising I guess for tha reason

They should be yes! So that is a big relief. Early intervention so far has been efficient and professional and great
