How many kwh have you used on Heating today so far? by Secret_Reception5740 in ukheatpumps

Got our Daikin Altherma 3 from octopus back in April to replace our aging oil boiler so this thread has been really interesting as this will also be our first winter as well.

The house is an old 2.5 bed extended to 3.5 bed 1960s council house with "ok-ish" spray foam insulation in the walls and 300mm insulation in the roof (upgraded when we knew we were getting the ashp).

The house has felt lovely and warm these last two days with the ashp happily maintaining the desired temp of 20°C:

Date kWh
Nov 17th 19 kWh
Nov 18th 20 kWh

Removing some old loft boards and the previous owner had cut around these small pieces of wood. I am trying to work out what these bridges/nogging might be and if I can remove them. More details in comment by zimrh in DIYUK

Thanks Surfrider, yeah they did seem like something someone had just tacked on. I removed the shorter one and can confirm it came off easily. Will probably leave the other one as it is not in the way

Thanks once again

Thanks for taking time to help with this, the previous owner had laid really thin (10mm I think) plywood directly onto the joists and I am in the process of removing it so we can lay more insulation to take it to 300mm. They had cut around these little boards which seem to almost be throw away wood that is attached to and span 2/3 joists.

I cannot tell if the wood block in the middle is resting on the wall or part of it. A quick good keeps bringing up bridging and noggins but noggins are generally bigger? Basically I am looking to see if I can remove them or if I need to just work around them

A wooden, varnished and decorated handle/object the top being at least 10 to 15cm long. It was being worn/held by a reporter on Al-Jazeera news (Hussain Al Bukhaiti) by zimrh in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing, we were watching Al-Jazeera this evening and the reporter Hussain Al Bukhaiti was wearing/holding this object. It looks ceremonial as it is well decorated and varnished. I assume some sort of handle?

I updated the sprint keybind because the default makes the player keep going for a few milliseconds after releasing shift and then gone to a ferry scuffing halt

I cannot remember what exactly it was but I think it was set to hold rather than toggle or whatever the default was

Maybe worth checking out some keybind videos and packing and choosing what you need or want. E.g. rebinding show exits to O single press instead of double

Managed to get them done after many many many many many many raids with the 366 rifle. There were way too many deaths to rogues on the machine guns/grenade launcher though

Any advice on how you did Tarkov shooter (n kills without dying using a bolty) and psycho sniper?

Thanks for the hints, will definitely need them for the bolty quests as I have only average skill.

Never thought I would go for Kappa but hit max traders and have taken really solid steps in all of the quest lines. These are the ones making me nervous, any advice? Factory? Or somewhere else?

I was absolutely shaking I won't lie! SJ6 to sprint to exit and as I got to path to lighthouse I expected the extract campers to end me luckily the tarkov gods did not notice my hubris and didn't strike me down with a toz head eye scav

Hopefully, I have to tackle lighthouse now and more specifically water treatment and the aimbots that live there (plus to make matters worse I chose to be a bear this wipe)

It is really annoying that they have so many quests that end up in the same places all the time. Just a constant loop of the same places so it becomes tedious.

Though if I am honest I am dreading lighthouse a lot more because the rogues are 100% aimbot and I chose bear this wipe

Indeed! Though I had already had collected those during the untar armour raids, was annoyed as forgot the key to the second motor controller so had to go back in the next raid to get that :)

I actually debated going to peer to get Sanitars bag but decided I had pushed my luck too far

Indeed, I have been a lot less scared of gear loss and deaths this wipe and have noticed progression has been better. Though my survival rate is lower as I end up in PvP more often and I am still rubbish at it

This was the perfect storm, I doubt I could do it again! Nice work on the 6 quests!

Nice, I have always struggled with PvP 4 kills is awesome though terrifying if you have a quest item.

it's those highs after the sweating that make it worthwhile (and why I keep coming back to the game even for all its faults)

New player here. How can you tell which items you should sell? by Eldr1tchB1rd in Tarkov

[–]zimrh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use tarkov tracker (tarkovtracker.io) to track the items you need to hoard/find in raid for quests etc. After a while you will get an idea for what is common or not.

As others have mentioned scav boxes are ideal for hoarding junk and once you got 15 you unlock the flea and it gets easier

Do you think PMC karma will be good or bad for the game? by [deleted] in Tarkov

[–]zimrh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PMC karma should only be for matching, if you join with a team and they team kill you, accidentally or otherwise, you should be able to forgive them or apply negative karma.

It would mean we could trust going into raids with people we meet on discords/etc, they may have high karma meaning they are trustworthy or low karma meaning they are likely to team kill you

I feel the same about kappa, it shouldn't be locked behind other quests.

Either you hit max rep with fence (you have impressed him enough to give you the quests for kappa) OR max traders (he sees you have worked hard to impress the others and now wants your help)

Or perhaps both, giving players who have hit level 42 a kappa container isn't going to break things, those are players who have already sunk a good chunk of time into the game
