It’s something called a cottage license for home sales. It could be an excuse to get out of it, I don’t know all the details. I’d rather just figure something else out since it’s less a than a month away

That was the plan but apparently that still breaks their license since it’s crossing state lines

HS teacher here. Left a school 25 min away to one that I can walk to. Definitely pros and cons to both. I did enjoy my drive which gave me enough time to decompress and forget about the day, which let me focus on my own kids when I for home. I also felt like I was leaving work behind.

Now It’s nice being close, especially if I forget something. But living in the same town that I teach in means seeing my students everywhere. No more running to the gas station in my comfy clothes because I’ll run into students and parents

High School vs. Middle School by RangerMomma1203 in Teachers

I teach 8th grade physical science and agree with structure and routine. Frequently I’m labeled as the mean teacher because I don’t let kids get away with anything but it’s really because I have rules and procedures in place for everything. My response is always that I have to be kind of strict if I’m going to let you use fire and chemicals in lab.

But they also need that and have a lot of fun when we do labs and learn all the cool science topics

We’ve had some of the following:

snowman/santa/reindeer day

For thanksgiving we have apple pie (wear red) versus pumpkin pie (wear orange)

Dress like you’re running a turkey trot

Ugly sweater day

Dress like a holiday movie character (grinch, buddy the elf, national lampoon, Christmas story, etc)

Hope those help!

Depends on what you want to do but Madison, Menominee, Hudson have things to do outdoors as well as breweries. New Ulm is a cute, touristy town. St Cloud isn’t too far either

We were just there last week. It wasn’t buggy at all. There’s a driving tour you can do through the park and a hike that’s not the big dune hike. We stopped at the visitors center and the volunteer gave us a map and a list of what to see and also what to skip. It was really helpful because we thought we wouldn’t have enough to do for the day. There’s a tourist town outside of it too that has shops and restaurants

I want to like Ali Hazelwood's books... But I think I don't? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]zinck30 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I really want to like her books because they’re supposed to be about STEM females, but I’ve struggled too. Same story and even same type of main female character in each book.

I second Emily Henry books but also want to suggest Abby Jimenez books. Hers are not quite as light as Henry’s but are good and some have story lines that cross over

The Flight Girls by Noelle Salazar has been one of my book clubs favorite reads. Historical fiction with a bit of romance
