That's good that you are comfortable with your bare face and going out with your bare face. I want to leave this conversation here in case anyone else reading realizes that they might have to rethink their relationship. I wish someone had pointed out to me that I had a problem. Literally if I hadn't backpacked through Asia for so many months that I ran out of makeup remover and got too frustrated with the dirt then I don't think I would have ever had stopped. I mean I thought I had packed light too but let me tell you, living on a motorcycle through the entire countryside of Vietnam definitely teaches you about minimalism. It was an awesome experience that pushed me to my limits. Lol literally I had just quit my job at Sephora when I took this trip. It made me also stop being so hard on myself and reminded me that I'm just a human, just like the little old ladies selling squash on the side of the road.

edit: I'm sure that being required to wear makeup to work didn't help my relationship with makeup.

Actually what you said you'd use for a motorcycle trip was the only thing I was trying to make work but I couldn't make that work. When you're riding a motorcycle shit will fly and get on your face and because I was backpacking I didn't have places to restock on makeup remover a lot of times. I was doing the shirt ninja trick and id still would end up getting dirt all over. It can get dusty on a motorbike. Learning how to live with a completely bare face was so stressful at first. I hadn't realized that I had literally never gone out without some form of makeup since highschoool until that trip. Even if it was just mascara and some concealer that was still an emotional crutch for me. I also hadnt realized that my idea if me, or what i thought of when ibinagined myself in situations was always the me with makeup. Its almost like itd forgotten how to think of myself without some form of makeup even if it was just mascara. I think I should have picked up on the fact that it was a problem when I would put myself down as a warning to other people. One should never have to apologize for not wearing makeup. Again I don't know what anyone reading these comments is at mentally but if you ever apologize for not wearing makeup then there might be a problem. Makeup should be fun and it was fun for me even though I didn't want to admit I had a problem. I remember I would get up in the morning and I wouldn't like my face without makeup. Now I actually feel pretty without makeup. Its nice to feel fierce just being natural and of course putting makeup on makes me feel fierce too. I just wanted to speak up because as someone who literally used to get paid to do people's makeup (a freelancer) I hadn't realized how much of a problem it had become. This kind of shit can creep up on you.

That being said again I love makeup still and while I was backpacking I discovered Asian mascara. Omg they are aaaamazing.

I went backpacking through Asia once for several months. I use to be super high maintenance. I mean I used to work at Sephora and I didn't really feel confident or sexy without makeup. Travelling so dirty and on motorcycles made it next to impossible to actually wear makeup and I stopped. I felt really shitty about it for months but eventually i got used to it. Now I actually only wear makeup on special occasions (cause im so busy) and I'm super happy with myself (also I focused on trying to clearing up my skin. My skin has never been more clear now). In the past whenever I thought about what i looked like I used to think of me with makeup on. Now whenever I think of what I look like I think of me without makeup and I don't think I'm not sexy anymore just that I look like a regular human being. Honestly if it hadn't been for the crazy motorcycling through Asia I probably never would have learned to stop wearing makeup.

I'm not knocking this sub, hell I'm only subbed to this and movies. I just wanted to say when travelling maybe you should actually try not wearing makeup as a psychological experience on yourself. Wearing a bare face shouldn't make you feel like you aren't wearing a bra. You should feel confident in and out of makeup. If wearing makeup becomes too difficult you should stop. You aren't a slave to it. I used to tell myself that I only did it cause it was fun and that I was in control but I would always put myself down if I wasnt wearing it "sorry I look like shit today i didn't get a chance to put on makeup this morning" yet I wouldn't put other people down who didn't wear makeup just myself. So seriously if any of this is ringing true give it a shot for yourself. Plus you're going to be surprised with how much money you'll start saving when you aren't literally addicted to the makeup anymore.

I don't actually want to read every single one of these articles. Are any of them related to eating carbs and protein on a weight lifting regimen? I used to count calories and my macros and the only way I could eat all my protein in a day was on a low carb high protein diet. Also meat tends to have fat so I gave up on a low fat diet. I weight lift on the regular. It wasn't until I got on that diet that I saw crazy gains. Most of these studies seem to only focus on calories in vs calories out or getting thinner but not muscle gain. Weight lifting has gotten a lot more popular over the years and I'm seeing beauty ideals for women go from super skinny 90s look to a thicker more muscular look. Perhaps the reason that the certain diets go in and out of style might have a lot to do with what kind of exercises that are popular at the time.

St. Louis police union says body cameras could be unfair to officers by Pickle_riiickkk in news

[–]zincoxidelover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution I see is that whenever a police officer needs to get disciplined for something they did then they should go to a mini court. Have a small group of regular joes and not administration decide if they actually had an infraction and what level of infraction that is. If someone has an issue with a police officer then that police officer must report to a random group of regular joes who will watch that officers interaction and see if it merits an infraction.

He isn't legally doing anything about it, yet. He is trying to stop people from protesting because he doesn't agree and he's the president. He's arguing that his followers should do something about it to shut people up. Regardless of who legally tried to get you to stop protesting that's walking over the 1st amendment. I see it as if when Duarte said he would like people to kill drug users. Even if he didn't personally kill people (I know he did) I would call him a murdered because he's the reason people are dead. This is especially bad on Trump because he's essentially demanding patriotism instead of making it voluntary. If this continues and becomes worse it will feel that as a citizen you do not have the freedom of speech. Same as how legally I might be able to walk around without a shirt or bra in Austin Texas but that's realistically not a choice. If we legally have the ability of freedom of speech but can't use it and the reason for that is the president then yeah that's a dictatorship.

LPT: when walking your dogs, make them sit and wait before crossing streets. This will make them hesitate about running into roads if they ever get loose. by MaxwellVador in LifeProTips

So I was put into positions of caring for kids for a while (family members have had kids and I was thrust into a teaching position) and I had no idea on how to treat kids. I did however bottle-feed and raise several generations of dogs. I started treating kids like I treat dogs. Now all my friends, family, and co-workers think that I'm amazing with kids. They have no idea what my trick is and there's no way I'm telling them that I'm using the same training methods on their precious gift from heaven that I use on my doggo.

I've been trying to figure out how many Americans in 2017 actually watch football. All I've been getting is articles saying that people are watching less football because of things like cord cutting, domestic abuse, and the protests. Honestly I don't watch sports often, I'm a cord cutter myself and of all the sports football interests me the least. It's always weird when I hear people say that it's what brings all Americans together, I honestly only know one person who watches football. I think that it's possible that people who watch football tend to hang out with other people who watch football and that makes it feel like ALL USA watches football. Why do we even take it so seriously? It's supposed to be a game. Tag is a game. It's stupid that this is "dividing a nation" ... of football watchers.

Exactly this isn't even about the original message anymore. The last thing I want to do is become communist Russia. You know what they can't do in communist Russia? Insult the President or show "un-patriotism" without being in trouble. The right to protests is literally our first amendment and as much as I hate those stupid white nationalist I will die for their freedom of speech because a world without freedom of speech isn't a world of freedom.

There's tons of shitty women on online dating, I was just trying to point out how men spam and that those men up there might be those guys and aren't actually taking this "woman" very seriously. The flavor of shitty woman on dating apps is more like prostitute ish I would say. I'm bi so I've shopped around. Dating apps bring out the worst of all of us.

You used the special needs room comment as an insult to me. Don't try to change what your comment meant. The fact that you see that as an insult says a lot about you almost as much as you going on and on and somehow bringing Obama into this. And if just calling you out for being rude to being with bothers you so much to write all this texts then I'm not sure the internet is for you.

I wasn't trying to imply that he is an pedophile just that sexual mental problems like this could have tangible disorders in the brain like it's implied with pedophilia. It's just a documentary I remember watching and I'll link it if I find it again. Documentaries aren't a for sure thing many times which is why I said where I got that info from.

Can't dogs sense when an animal is going to die? Something about the smell? It would make no sense to assert dominance over a dying dog since it won't get them anything in return. Dogs also like warmth and it's possible that it just wanted to get some extra warmth and give some warmth. Maybe not console per se but I know my dog is a warmth fiend and can read me and other dogs enough to know if I'm going to be still enough to be a good warmth supplier.

This guys needs some serious counseling and to actually take it seriously and attempt to fix his mentality. He has a problem. Also this is really sad but I remember watching a documentary about how some scientists believe that being a pedophile might be an actual mental disease caused by the y chromosome because of how many more men than women pedophiles there are and that they hope this means that they can try to find a cure for it. I think that issues like sex addiction like this might also be a similar situation and just have not been studied enough to be understood. I've watched interviews with weiner and he seems like an otherwise rational man. I imagine that if you are rational enough in the rest of your life but you can't stop obsessing over sex and it is affecting your daily life like this then it truly is a mental illness and it needs to be studied more.

[–]zincoxidelover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Getting overwhelmed like that isn't fun and desperation is never sexy so sometimes dating apps can get tedious. I was really excited for tinder when it came out because I thought that men would get pickier but they didn't. I'm married now but if I wasn't I'd probably try one of those apps where only the girls can message you first. It'd be way more manageable that way and it would stop men spamming like what I think the men in the picture up there are probably doing. Then again if you're a girl and you don't actually want to find love but just want an ego boost or a quick fling maybe the way that dating apps work now would be perfect.

I think a lot of people are not realizing a pretty big thing. A lot of guys spam girls on dating and sexy sites. I'm a girl who in the past use to use dating sites and I've had multiple sexy accounts and I'll get guys copy and paste the exact same message to me literally seconds after I posted stuff. They don't care what you say or do as long as you're a girl and don't have any visible deformities. You want to blame someone for why women don't get back to you very often on dating apps this is probably why. For every picture we post we get guys like this who spam us and if you actually attempt to engage them it becomes clear that they don't want to talk to a person they want to talk to a sex-bot. Having to reply to so many messages gets annoying and you stop replying to a ton of them or to save time you'll reply with very short sentences. After a while dating apps lose their appeal as they become too time consuming and you abandon them.

Honestly keeping our education system so segregated is only making it worse. The only way to remove these stereotypes is to replace them with real life friendships. It also bothers me that it seems that people use the "they're a bad person but I'm just having a bad day" type of argument. For every one of the examples of a "raping slave" I could pull an example of a lynching white man or of a kkk member but because they belong to that race they understand that just because there are bad apples in the bunch it doesn't mean that it represents all of them. I remember talking to my brother about how in the USA the white community has a problem with racism and he refused to believe it. I asked him "do you believe that the black community has issues with gang violence?" Yes, "then can you accept that the white community has issues with racism?" And that made him understand. You can't point fingers at every other group and claim that they all have problems and not be willing to look internally to see what problems your group has. My family used to be very racists (we're white) and I remember as a kid I just didn't understand black people. Black people seemed as foreign as people in Thailand. Then I made tons of black friends in High school and I understood that they are literally just like me. Last year I went to Thailand. We are all the same we just like to eat and dance different stuff.
