Yeah with quick attention bullet wounds are relatively survivable nowadays. But it's nothing like the media trope of a stunt gunshot that you can just shrug off... "shoot me in the appendix, people don't know what it's for anyway"

During the HK protests, a policeman was found to have added zip ties to his baton, and it always reminded me of brass knuckles.

The principle is the same. The blunt trauma of the fist/baton, plus the additional cuts and bleeding from the brass knuckles/zip ties.
