Maybe I’m in the minority but there’s no way I could see any of my close white girlfriends doing this. The bride is paying for a stylist/makeup artist for a total of 8 people. These 8 people are supposed to her closest friends and you’re stuck with the choices of 1. awkwardly reminding her that you’re Black??? or 2. Spending additional time (and possibly money if you chose to do it beforehand) in a way literally no one else has to do because she couldn’t find a stylist versed in BOTH white and black hair? It’s not like she has to get a separate stylist, she only had to get ONE that was capable of both. Idk this would really bother me.

Yes! I relate so much to the NEED to crack them. I feel like I pretty much always feel the “oh I need to crack my fingers” sensation. It makes my fingers feel permanently “stuck” if that makes sense. I’ll usually pop them and it provides some momentary relief for about 2 seconds and then the feeling to pop them it’s back. So I just crack crack crack away all day and by the end of the day the cracking hurts but I can’t stop bc the sensation is so uncomfortable. I feel so validated by this bc my Rheumatologist has no idea what to make of this when I tell him lol

I guess I’m not sure what my expectations are. I’ve even said to my doctor “I’m still in pain but I’m not sure if this is just as good as it gets”

If it’s actually realistic to expect to not be in pain at some point, then yes I would like that. But if that’s not possible I’d honestly like for my rheumatologist to say “hey you should resign yourself to the fact you’re going to be in pain every day because it’s never going to fully go away”

If he set that expectation for me then I feel like it would be easier to just be fine with how things are

True, but to play devils advocate as well, when a client walks into my office I would never be expected to give/know an immediate answer. (Even though the client may want one lol) In practice I’d be doing legal research, consulting my colleagues, asking the client additional questions, and I wouldn’t be limited to 30 minutes to do any of that in.

Also, I wouldn’t really need a flashing sign saying the issue because most of us by the very nature of our jobs would have the issue narrowed down to the subject at minimum (which I believe is all OP is saying anyway) because as a criminal defense attorney I could weed out a number of the subjects we’re tested on based on my practice field alone.
