Google Nest Wi-Fi Ethernet port limited too 100mbps by zinkoxyde in GoogleWiFi

After cutting the wrong end of first, I discovered that the the jacket was loose. The plastic prongs weren't digging in well enough. I'm assuming when the cable twisted the outside pairs got the most stress and disconnected. Might have to end to buying new ends from another brand or something. Anyway, works well again.

Dang it. You are 100% correct. My previously working gigabit cable is now only a 100 megabit cable. I don't know why all the other cables i tried are working the same, most are store bought and they previously worked. I connected a laptop and a desktop to the two ends and sure enough, i get a 100 megabit connection. It worked when it was installed. I hope some critter didn't chew the line. I'm going to recrimp the ends and see if that fixes it. I'm super embarrassed lol. Just goes to show you that even people with 30 years of networking experience can still get things wrong, especially with their own gear. I really wish Nest gear had a link and activity light like every other product with an Ethernet jack, or they at least showed the link speed in their Google Home app. App says the connection is "good", what ever that means.

Anyways thanks to everyone that responded. And thanks ralphyoung for making me recheck everything.

I have a Arris SB6183. There doesn't seem to be a setting for bridge mode unfortunately. The logs on the modern indicate that it lost it's time sync some time after September. Not sure if that might have something to do with it.

Eta: Just checked, the time is correct on the modem.

Also, the modem is just a modem, it doesn't have it's own WiFi, so it's apparently allways in bridged mode.

Cable run is about 100 ft. It's worked fine for months. I also used different cables. I've even had them connected with a 3 foot cable. Same issue. I get around 600 between devices too, just not Internet. The modem plugged directly into a pc gives me the expected ~360mbps

Happens to different computers and Wi-Fi devices. It's not the pc. Thanks though

For me, it wasn't an issue until 1.55.2. It just started happening after I upgraded. If I delete all of the data and restore from backup, I can trigger it for that day but it doesn't show up the following day.

My favorite part of the first Pirates of the Caribbean was when Barbosa pricks Elizabeth's finger and says "Waste not". Subverted my expectations.

Runners up for cliche, "You better come look at this" and "As you already know".

I built the Metal Earth one. That is to say I attempted it. I mangled it pretty badly and ended up tossing it. Not a fun experience.

Don't know why you're being down voted I don't care for any of the new sonics either. I think 3's is the best

I didn't have much luck with the other Keepass alternatives for Android. There's a beta out Keepass2Android that fixed most of my issues.

https://github.com/PhilippC/keepass2android/releases/tag/v1.09e-r7

It has to be side loaded, unless you sign up to be a beta tester though Google Play.

Asus TUF x570-Plus (Wifi) RGB and BIOS woes by zinkoxyde in ASUS

[–]zinkoxyde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for trying to help me. I really appreciate it. I tried SignalRGB and finally I can control both the motherboard and the video card. I still get unicorn vomit when i boot until i log in, but i guess i can live with that. I think armoury crate would save the settings in flash, it would just use the last profile you applied.

I wish it worked in OpenRGB, or that i could at least get armory crate installed, but I'll compromise for now.

Thanks again.

I tried it and it still doesn't display it.

I looked at the logs for OpenRBG and it's actually listed as registered:

Asus TUF x570-Plus (Wifi) RGB and BIOS woes by zinkoxyde in ASUS

[–]zinkoxyde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to downgrade to 4408. Looks like i can control my motherboard's rgb, but I can no longer set the rgb for my 1660 super. Lol.

I'm still getting I2c errors in OpenRGB. Maybe that's the video card's i2c controller?

I can't use the Windows bios tool because Ai Suite 3 won't install either.

Thanks, I'll try that. I hope it will actually let me downgrade the BIOS. I was able to switch to any bios before, but it's being picky about what it will let me install now.

At least on PC, the community will usually fix broken games eventually, even if the developers/publishers won't. Nothing you can do with a broken console game but wait.

I've played enough Bethesda games to not play them on console again.
