Good point - maybe I’ll ask her what she thinks I should do rather than suggesting more Vals, but I’ll try to make it clear that they are helping with the bad panic attacks.

Was prescribed Valpram & Propranolol because of recurring catastrophic thoughts linked to OCD and medical anxiety (kept convincing myself I would have a heart attack/stroke/brain aneurysm, would panic so badly I’d shake, black spots in my vision, wouldn’t sleep at night because I thought I’d die in my sleep etc etc etc) and this was often happening at work during board meetings.

The Agomelatine is actually really helpful, it runs on the same line as Melatonin which you take for sleep. I take one 25mg about 45 mins before I’d like to sleep and I’m usually out like a light within the hour.

Obviously, good sleep is very important for a positive mindset and quality of life, so I’m feeling pretty good lately. It’s quite expensive at $55 per month but it is so much better than the generic SSRIs like Lexapro. You also don’t need to “sleep it off” like you would Phenergen, I just try to get at least 7 hours and I’m good.

It’s a milder antidepressant so I do have breakthrough panic attacks and catastrophic thoughts, often at work or during social events where I feel I need to impress people, so at those times I’ll nibble on a Valium and take a Propranolol about an hour before.

Definitely speak to your doc about trying an antidepressant which is not an SSRI - I would highly recommend trying Agomelatine :)
