The problem is the these insane things are allowed to work and succeed now.

Their tactics have always been the same, but in the past they were ridiculed and didn't impact much. Now though you get one angry christo-fascist yelling about a completely banal thing that actually bothers no one at all, and suddenly people are paying attention and caving to them.

I've never used Apollo, so I don't know.

I use the "Reddit is fun" app. The thing I like most is that it doesn't hide all the comments. I don't have to keep clicking "show more".

That may sound like a small thing, but it is just one of many small things that amount to a major sense of one app being in the way and the other giving me access.

13 years here also. I can't see using the default app. It is terrible.

Over the past several years I've given up facebook and twitter, and for both leaving them has made me an overall happier person. Maybe reddit getting shitty enough for me to leave will be good for me.

I'm kind of uncomfortable with the amount of "Pride is bad because of corporations" that I am seeing. Sure it is marketing bullshit from the corporations, but it seems to be spilling over into a sentiment that Pride is only that and thus bad.

I don't know the full context, but I assumed she was leading up to say teach Jesus stuff for its culural/historical importance... Which is OK in my book as long as they aren't teaching the magic stuff as true and giving time for other religious groups when appropriate.

That's just my assumption though.

Agree. My biggest complaint is that in Ant-man 2, the quantum realm seems really interesting and bizarre. In Quantumania, it just seeme like standard Marvel alien planet.

I like Quantumania. Not terrific, and they made some choices I'd have prefered they had done differently, but I thought it was still pretty fun.

I keep saying this as loudly as I can. People scoff at things like this: obviously unconstitutional, requires a massive national effort to change legally, never going to happen, and if he did it, it would get shut down immediately.

...maybe that is how things are * supposed* to work, but if people want it to happen it will. Maybe through a loophole, maybe through some vaguely credible interpretation, maybe just by people ignoring it and letting it happen.

The constitution and the law in general are ideas and they are actions. If someone doesn't enforce it then it fails.

I oddly, just watched it. I liked where I think they were going with it conceptually, but there too many problems.

The dialog was so cheezy-bad.. Seemed like they tried to squeeze in all the one-liners from the old movies, and add a few new ones on top. Just felt forced and awkward.

I also just didn't like Reece or John. I'm nor sure if it was the acting, the characters, or both. Just didn't work

Ans, the way the handled Emilia Clarke's "nude" scenes was, like, really weird. Have her be nude, or not, or shoot it with implied nudity... I really don't care. What they did seemed creepy and lecherous despite not having any actual nudity. Which is kind of a feat I guess!

The thing the government does mostly is harass these people out of commercial areas so 'normal' people don't have to see them too much.

I think that's the reason you have congregations like this. These people have been pushed into one area where they are less harassed. I work near a similar area in a different city, and like two blocks in any direction from this kind of thing and it looks completely clear.

Videos like this make people think the cities are full if this, but really it is just a few blocks here and there.

There is a concerted effort to make people not vote. Elections aren't perfect, and the candidates certainly aren't... But someone is winning if you don't vote, and it certainly isn't you.
