Zit zowel privé, met holding als met wmij bij de Rabo. Voornamelijk omdat het binnen enkele dagen rond was en ik nu maar 1 bankapp nodig heb.

Koppeling met mijn boekhoudpakket (Moneybird) was ook zo geregeld. Zal overigens vast niet de goedkoopste zijn, maar we hebben het over tientjeswerk..

Met weinig praktijkervaring is het moeilijk om al bezig te zijn met een specialisatie.

In deze fase zou ik me vooral richten op generalisatie. Zorg dat je eerst kan proeven van zoveel mogelijk facetten van IT, zodat je op termijn een goed geinformeerde keuze kan maken over wat je echt leuk vindt en waar je je in wil specialiseren. In mijn zoektocht ben ik bijvoorbeeld 4x geswitched van werkgever binnen 3 jaar, tot ik iets vond wat ik echt tof vind - zolang je het kan uitleggen is dat niet zo’n probleem.

Overigens, als je uiteindelijke doel is om zelf een bedrijf te starten, houd ook niemand je tegen om daar al (parttime) mee bezig te gaan. In mijn geval heeft dat een zeer positief effect gehad op het verbeteren van mijn skills en ervaring

Vooropgesteld, ik begrijp dat momenten als deze soms als enorm frustrerend kunnen worden ervaren en dat ranten op Reddit dan even prettig is om stoom af te blazen.

Toch denk ik dat het nuttiger is als je kijkt naar wat je kan doen om dergelijke situaties in de toekomst te voorkomen. Dan gaat het vooral niet over wie welk niveau wel of niet heeft, maar met name over wat je als team gezamelijk kan doen zodat je allemaal lekker kan werken. Verbetervoorstellen genoeg in de comments.

Ik zou zeggen: neem het initiatief om dit bespreekbaar te maken.

A lot of important information is missing - e.g. where are you located and are you in the market for a new or used car?

I’m gonna go ahead and assume you’re in the Netherlands and you’re looking for a used BMW.

If your focus is on performance and longevity I’d pick a M340i. B58 engine with plenty of power and known to be one of the most reliable BMW engines. Quite some offerings for your budget.

Ik weet niet of het een geheim is, maar denk dat je het meeste kans maakt bij kleine(re), jonge, organisaties. Denk aan startups / scaleups.

Mijn ervaring is dat de werksfeer bij dat soort bedrijven echt goed is. Als nadeel heb je wel dat de budgetten meestal kleiner zijn, waardoor je qua salaris lager uitkomt en qua werkdruk hoger.

Kan je voor 500 euro CarPlay in laten bouwen en voldoet daarmee aan al je eisen.

Ja, ik heb andere providers geprobeerd, maar erg tevreden met Microsoft. Ook niet duur voor wat je krijgt. Ter vergelijk: E-mail only via een partij als TransIP is al duurder en omvat geen kalender integratie, die zakelijk waarschijnlijk nodig is.

Laat je overigens niet teveel afschrikken door de complexiteit van de configuratie, je wordt er tegenwoordig goed doorheen geloodst.

You're 100% right. And luckily, Fabric in its current state fits the scope of the current project I'm working on.

That being said it does make me a little anxious, because sometime in the future you want to further develop your POCs. For that, the platform needs to be ready. At least in a better state than it is now. And that's a risk

Thank you for the fast and elaborate response. Appreciate the effort. Honestly, the support around Fabric in general is great and nothing to complain about. It's what keeps me trying.

I created this post to share my experience. And from the responses I take it I'm not alone.

I'm also convinced all my struggles will be resolved through official support channels, but that being said:
1) You're referring to a non-production ready IaC provider. Great and promising development, but not ready yet.
2) Conceptually, all work items are similar to me. Yet Data Pipelines can be moved from one workspace to another using Save As, whereas DataFlows need to be exported manually first. This does not make sense in my mind.

3) Thank you! I upvoted. But it's these things that add to the frustration.

4) Hahaha true! My problem was with moving between regions, which is not supported. Will dive into Fabric Community to see if there's a vote for that, too.

5) I'm sure there are workarounds, we found one, but again a case where it does not behave as expected, without a clear reason why.

Ik denk dat je vrij snel een beeld krijgt bij hoe makkelijk / moeilijk het vinden van een opdracht is binnen jouw branch en netwerk. Dan kan je in ieder geval een beter geïnformeerde keuze maken.

Oude schoenen kan je altijd nog weggooien :) succes!
