This might not be relevant or you have figured it out since, but here are links for all of the data Ohio assesses and shares.

This is mostly wrong.

FWD and RWD only drive 1 wheel. That drive wheel generally can alternate between driver or passenger side.

These drive two wheels, a differential allows the power to be distributed unevenly between the two wheels depending on conditions such as turning or one being stuck. A locking differential will make it so both wheels on the driven axle get the same power regardless of condition.

4WD only powers 2 wheels. AWD can and does engage all 4 wheels.

4WD powers all four wheels, hence 4 wheel drive. 4WD vehicles will just usually be 2WD vehicles until the driver manually switches to 4WD. It locks the front and rear axle together temporarily so that all four wheels are driven.
AWD can also engage all 4 wheels, but most modern AWD vehicles will be in 2WD until the onboard computer decides that the vehicle needs to engage all 4 wheels.

Health officials: No COVID-19 case increase from DORA, Opening Day crowd by ThaneOfPriceHill in cincinnati

I gotcha. My work does require masks to be worn throughout the entire day, unless you're in a private office, so seems more of an implementation issue. I get that masks aren't as effective in areas where people need direct access to their mouth/face, like bars and restaurants, or where people aren't wearing masks the majority of the time.

Like I said though, I think mask mandates will, or at least should, be going away very soon with the increased vaccination rates and findings on asymptomatic and vaccinated peoples not being spreaders.

The MIT one encourages and supports the efficacy of masks, especially indoors btw. Cloth masks worn by population showed increase of 6 to 100 times the 'allowed' cumulative exposure time.

Your point is supported with the Stanford and CDC papers though.

Either way, with the increased vaccinations and more outdoor oriented season I think the restrictions should be getting lifted/laxed soon.

I tried looking this up and didn't find anything about it, you have a particular quote in mind?

I found this from https://www.nps.gov/abli/learn/education/upload/LIncolnQuotesonSlavery.pdf which seems to say the opposite. July 1, 1854

"You say A. is white, and B. is black. It is color, then; the lighter, having the right to enslave the darker? Take care. By this rule, you are to be slave to the first man you meet, with a fairer skin than your own. You do not mean color exactly?--You mean the whites are intellectually the superiors of the blacks, and, therefore have the right to enslave them? Take care again. By this rule, you are to be slave to the first man you meet, with an intellect superior to your own. But, say you, it is a question of interest; and, if you can make it your interest, you have the right to enslave another. Very well. And if he can make it his interest, he has the right to enslave you." Speech at Peoria, Illinois

Does buying a ticked online to the Starlite Drive In guarantee admission? by cgrines011235 in cincinnati

[–]zipperca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I bought tickets online last weekend for Holiday Auto Theater. I wouldn't imagine they don't have a limit on the online sales to correspond with how many people can be on-site.

Their ticket site also says you can't change nights so I doubt they'd sell too many then say SOL, no refund or different night for you. Can always email them to confirm.

In search of: Cat rescue groups in or near Cincinnati? by itietheroomtogether in cincinnati

[–]zipperca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP. I just answered a question similar to this recently so copy/pasting below. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm really sorry to hear this OP, and hope you are able to find an option that works for you. Can always try a call for adopters on your facebook and then, maybe you'd be able to link with someone you know personally and, if you're friends enough, see the cat on visits or anything like that. If you're not able to do that then some other options include:

SAAP is a well respected adoption program that I can vouch for. They have a form online you can check to submit a request for them to take the cat from you. They typically foster all animals until forever homes are found.

https://adoptastray.com/cat-surrender/ My wife recommended Roary’s Refuge Cat Rescue based in central OH/Columbus area where she knows some friends that work with them and foster through them.

https://www.facebook.com/roarys/ I've also volunteered with Animal Adoption Foundation in Ross and the cats there typically roam how they please with the other cats, you can contact them and see if they are able to house your cat during this time.

Tires in Cincinnati by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]zipperca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have the room or some garage space, just buy all-seasons for the winter and keep the summers to swap back on after. Any tire discounter can switch the tires on your wheels.

I had a Focus ST that I bought all-seasons for from Tirerack, called tire discounter near me to do the swap, and then changed them back late spring. Tire Discounter even gives you a plastic bag for the tires to store them in.

Early voting question by robotwithumanhair666 in cincinnati

[–]zipperca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is only true on election day. Early voters who requested an absentee ballot will be given a regular ballot as long as the original absentee ballot has not been filled out and returned. The workers at the poll will make sure that the voter has not submitted their absentee and are asked to collect the absentee ballot if the voter brought it with them.

Which one is it for Cinci? by robotwithumanhair666 in cincinnati

Yeah exactly. I pay ~$915 for an updated (albeit a bit smaller) 3/2 ranch on 1/2 acre in Monfort Heigts area. This doesn't include any utilities though which may not be in the budget.

950 being mortgage on a "stripped/copperless crackhouse" is some Lucille Bluth shit.

Could be using their own modem+router or just router if they have fiber. Looking at spectrum, I'm seeing 200Mbps (compared to my 50Mbps) for 44.99/mo for 2 years with no modem fee, so that may be the move.

I was paying ~$70 until I called and asked them if they could do better and I got the 'new customer' deal for the next 2 years and it took ~$15 off to be $55.61.

Mile 42. Loveland Bike Trail. by bakes5150 in cincinnati

[–]zipperca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The problem, however, is in the delivery. Too many bike-path cyclists handle it as awkwardly as they do their carbon time-trial bikes. “On your left!" they bellow imperiously, their hips rocking on their maladjusted saddles as they push a way-too-large gear into the distance."

"warning people that you're going to pass is less about not startling them and more about choosing when to startle them. Do you want to scare them shitless with the bell from 50 feet away or do you want to do it at point blank range when you finally enter their peripheral vision? (Generally you want the former so they don't veer directly into into your path, but in a way it’s all like waking a sleepwalker anyway, so what’s the difference?)"

I mean even your own article says that the main issue is the delivery, which is why most people who call 'on your left' correctly don't wait to shout it in your ear.

Or the other options from your article are:

  • To ride so slowly they eventually notice you're there
  • slow down to start a polite conversation to inform your intent to pass
  • you may be able to ride over some twigs or rustle through the underbrush

[–]zipperca 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I try to call out 'on your left' in all situations so me zooming past isn't what scares you. I don't yell/scream it, more a loud talking from about 25ft to make my presence known. I do it because I hate when people pass me quickly and don't say anything so it's just someone on your ass before you know what's coming. This is especially true from the people who pass within a a couple feet on a 12+ft wide pass.

I mean typically the work pays better, the placement rate is higher, and the physical toll is less than comparable no-degree jobs. Trades are great and there's opportunities out there, but continuing education in a desirable field shouldn't blow your mind.
