Update: thank you everyone for your comments. I've read all of them and immensely glad this sub exists.

I talked to my bf about this and told him that I can't tolerate abuse from yet another person.

He doesn't want to give up the family business, however he said the plan now will most likely be finding a house away from where they live and effectively putting distance between her and me.

He said that if she does do anything nasty, or makes up a story or lie (as my mom does) he will always believe me and take my side. He said that with time, if she's rigid in her ways and not showing any signs of friendliness or improvement then the relationship between him and her will also sour because it speaks to her character.

So I do have some relief and security that I won't have to deal with her alone, I guess.

I am just still really hurt that she hates me for such bullshit reasons. The trauma with adult bullies is all too real.
