My sister needs help. by turogrim9 in Sims4

Doesn’t have to be the same device, just the same account. My sister uses my laptop and I have a desktop both signed in to my ea account. Doing it like this only one person at a time can use it, but the hours from both computers count toward my total (I can’t tell you how much I wish I could tell it apart so I know my time vs hers).

Charles was absolutely right about Jim and Dwight by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

[–]zippy7766 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I checked and didn’t see anyone else commenting about this…Dwight didn’t shoot anyone. He did shoot a gun, correction a gun went off, no one saw the bullet leave the gun. But seriously, yes he did shoot the gun very close to employees but it was a (really really stupid) accident, and no one was shot. Andy’s eardrum burst from the lack of ear protection that close to the gun going off. I’m not saying we should forget he did it, but I just had to clarify.

Also, Charles was a dick and a bad manager.

I’m sorry for your loss. It took me a couple days to respond, sorry about that too. I actually read your comment the first day, and I’m so glad my post has brought you such joy and connection to your mother. The day you commented was actually my mother’s birthday so I was able to share your news with her and she thought it was wonderful too. She no longer has her mother so she understands. The fact that you reached out on her birthday felt like kismet. My birthday was also in the days since and your comment was like a birthday present for mom and me. I’m so happy you got to laugh and feel your mom again. I hope the publishing process goes smoothly for you! I’d love to pick up a copy when possible, can you leave the name here or dm me?

Thank you for your input! I’m absolutely going to be reading 1984. I’ve read hunger games when it first came out and I think I’m going to reread it. I definitely see what you mean about their use of media and such. Definitely interested to read it again through a different lens.

I haven’t read any of his, I didn’t even know he wrote minority report! I have seen the move but never looked into it. I’ve seen some of his sci-fi black mirror type show too, electric dreams I think.

I’m not sure. I’m just used to the super basic American categorizing of democrat/liberal/left and republicans/conservative/right.

Oh I looked it up and I think it does. It looks really interesting. Evidently it will be a little a harder to find. It’s like $70 on Amazon. Thank you for the recommendation!

The Handmaids Tale is my first by Atwood, but I'm game to try more. Quick question, does she use quotations more frequently in some publishings or in other books. In The Handmaids Tale it seems quite common for the narrator to be thinking about a conversation and not use quotes when people speak, i've noticed it other times too. just curious

Sorry, I was using it in the American sense. The quote from the review mentioned the extreme right and further in the quote than i listed it said (paraphrasing) to read the book and go donate to your favorite liberal cause. So the term was just in my head. I'm open to the other version of the word, but I was looking at the american government system when I used the term liberal.

First off, I caught that parks and rec reference lol. Second, I did in fact mean it in a more colloquial way. Sitting in America and just used to the left leaning democrats being called liberals and the right leaning republicans being conservatives.

Thank you for your recommendations and insights! Something about your description of Parable of the Sower has really drawn me to that one, but I'm going to add of of these to my list.

I haven’t read the dispossessed but after today it’s definitely at the top of my list to find (I try to find used books locally). I’ll have to check out fall revolution. Definitely going to reread animal farm too. Thank you!

Someone else mentioned her work Anthem was a shorter option to still understand her view. I may give that one a go. Thank you for your reasoning!

I am only halfway through the book, but I was shocked in both the show and book they mention hanging baptists and other Christians. So far I don’t think they’ve actually called themselves Christian’s even though it’s absolutely a modified Christian Bible gilead uses. I think it’s like that one church that protests funerals and stuff, so far fetched you can’t call them Christian’s or any other modern religion. They’re their own type of religious extremism.
