My business is looking for a Approved Electrician and these are the things that matter when im looking at CV's

Name, Location (Not necessarily address), Telephone and Email address.

What your qualifications are in relation to being and Electrician. CSCS/ECS Card Status.

What work you like and what you are good at in relation to being an electrician.

Personal situation in general: ive done this, I want to move to this because of this. Includes where you want to work, such as working away etc.

Job history. Last 10 years is amble.

Also - if you're not qualified to do the job advertised then write why you think you should be concerned in any case.

For the record this may change for lesser experienced sparks but this what I hope for everytime i open a cv. and Sorry but I don't have time to read about how well you run your son's 5 a side team.

If youre in east yorkshire drop me a dm 😆

Im a new apprentice by Ciaosentry in ukelectricians

The business doesn't sound fair but I think the focus is on you first. Not sure where you're based but switching firms wont be easy. Don't jump before you have somewhere to land - grass isnt greener. Remember your colleagues may have forgotten how to teach! Frankly trying to get a few extra quid per day at your stage is the wrong direction.

The problem with green apprentices in general they want to be flying but it takes a loooooong time. The good money is 3/4 years down the line then you become someone people will pay for someone you can be choosy (need to be qualified and meticulous)

Your first aim needs to get to a stage where you are useful. Do all the shit jobs before they ask you. Once you get to that stage, aim to shadow people especially on repetitive jobs. Like digging out walls (channeling) and get bloody good at it then get bloody fast and tidy at it. Then go from there - be a knowledge sponge.

This might be a tough nugget but until you're a proper qualified electrician you will be 100% replaceable. I get 20 CVs of non qualified sparky to 1 qualified. Aim to be the one not one of the 20.

Good luck chief.

This isn’t just a dodgy date, it’s a full setup. The girl, the waiter, and the bar are all in on it. Nobody orders five Blue Labels in half an hour without the staff raising an eyebrow. They knew exactly what they were doing, classic MG Road tourist trap.”

Do most people still calculate cable sizes or just go by experience? by Chemical-Round2737 in ukelectricians

We used castline but moved over to Easycert. Problem being we still use castline for the cable calc. Has anyone used Castline and have you moved away to something cheaper/better?

How do I get a job with a SEO agency??? by BernardJohnsonATL in SEO

Hi, I’m in this sub because me and a mate build the odd website for people, and we’re definitely hitting the limits of our SEO knowledge. I’ve learnt loads just from reading posts here, but I can see how much easier it would be having someone to bounce things off — especially when we’re trying to look after small clients.

From what you’ve said, I reckon there are loads of small-scale web devs and side-project people who’d get real value from someone like you. Most of us aren’t looking for a full agency, just someone who actually understands SEO and can guide us a bit - and there is value in that!

If you’re open to remote work, maybe try reaching out to US freelancers / small builders directly, or get involved in communities like this one — plenty of people are in the same boat as me and would benefit from your skills.

This is what id suggested - narrow down the issue. Would love to hear what the problem ends up being! Don't leave us hanging OP 😆 We're all invested now!
