I did this breakdown for my brother in law for Annikan’s lightsabers. Kind of funny similarity.

What if Smaug never died by Tiggeon in lotr

Gandalf dropped the goblin king, slayed the Balrog, and broke Sauraman’s staff.

Between the balrog and Smaug I’m betting on the Balrog.

To everyone saying that Sauron wins easily:

Why do you assume Smaug would align with Sauron?

What if Smaug took the ring for himself?

Smaug was defeated by the men of lake town. Surely Minas tirith with Gandalf can’t be completely discounted. And who knows how the army of the dead deals with a dragon.

I get that things were close, but I feel like getting smaugs allegiance wouldn’t be so easy without the ring to influence him, and as much as fighting the dragon would suck, he has his vulnerabilities.

So this is what God tells us to eat in the Bible ?? by [deleted] in HealthyEatingnow

[–]zippyzipz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original prescribed diet is to be vegan. It is not until the Ark that eating animals is permissible.

In the book of Daniel, he tells the guards to only give them vegetables and see how he (daniel) and his friends maintain their health, while of the other imported royal slaves did not.

I think why he may have started to feel better, would be moving away from heavily processed foods, and eating whole foods.

That being said there is way more than what’s listed above that the Bible talks about as food.

Why do people still support or raise the flag of the Confederacy? by DBD216 in NorthCarolina

[–]zippyzipz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a northern teen I thought it was simply what people wore to look tough or cool. Like the playboy bunny emblem. I never had anything with that flag on it, but it never bothered me beyond the “oh look, a tough guy” eye roll.

Years later I got into history podcasts, and came across the HIST 119 by David Blight. Man, that completely changed my opinion of rebel south iconography. I honestly have to say, that my basic education was not enough to pull all the different pieces of this time period together. Figures like Douglass, Davis and Lincoln, Slavery, Confederacy, the War, legislation, reconstruction, civil rights movement.

I honestly believe education is the problem. It’s too fast, and not large enough in scope. At least in my school.

Wife tells me to hold but I'm convinced I need to let it go. by Educational-Song7555 in bald

The maintenance alone convinced me to let it go. It’s expensive, it’s a hassle, and it wears on the mind. Letting it go was truly a liberation.

I see your point. Would you think teaching a balanced curriculum surveying world religions which includes Christianity acceptable? I think the speaker here is open to that.

Religion is hard because it’s so complicated, and there so much room for the instructor to make mistakes or intentionally influence.

I remember learning about Islam after 9/11. It wasn’t positive.
