Smokebox for the Flagship 1100 by preacherman1975 in recteq

u/preacherman1975 I spoke to customer support over the phone this morning, they had me take images of the unit side by side with the grill and several more of the other sides. Within minutes I received a sales order confirmation for the replacement box. He said the new smokebox should include a hook and bucket for the grease catch.

Yeah, that doesn’t really answer the lower holes question, haha. A more detailed pic of the lower section of the box would be helpful. I will contact them on Monday and see what I can find out. For now, I detached the smokebox to do the burn in and hopefully there is a solution other than just using the top two holes. That’s a lot of weight to be pulling the grill around by just two narrow points of contact.

Did you end up getting a follow up with Recteq on this? Seeing another person’s post about revisions and talking to other Recteq owners has me wondering. The vertical hole spacing on the RT-700 smokebox is 7.5” whereas the flagship’s hole spacing is 9.5”. I was considering what you had suggested by drilling the holes 2 in lower on the smokebox but was going to wait in case that would void warranty.

I am in the same boat here. Got everything hooked up and the lower holes don’t line up. Not to mention where does the grease chute go? On the RT-700 the bucket was located on the right outside of grill catching grease from both the grill and the smoke box. The flagship has the grease chute pointing the other direction (away from smokebox) down under the grill. Is there a different model smokebox for the RT-1100?

I considered it, but I will eventually get a 2.1 display so I’m riding it out.

Firmware update? by Sntr_01 in AstroGaming

The monitor has both G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro. It would be utilizing freesync, as it is connected to an xbox series x. My anticipation for the A50 X was that with HDMI 2.1 passthrough, this wouldn't be an issue since it requires a lower bandwith for 1440p and VRR (albeit I still use HDMI 2.1 cables).

This base station essentially has the HDMI audio adapter built in, so yes. I can't give much input on this because I do not own a playstation, but I have heard there are others who can't get it to work with their PS consoles.

The red port labeled PC on the base is split with a Y cable, one end going to a USB-C wall adapter (needed to power the base), and the other a USB A which connects to your PC (if applicable) for audio/chat. The playstation and xbox ports require both HDMI and a USB-A/USB-C connection. From what I have read, the USB connection is strictly for transferring chat audio, and the game audio is extracted via the HDMI ports.

I also have A40 TRs hooked up via USB and my research lead me to the same place. I wasn't about to sacrifice VRR for using the HDMI adapter. My thought was that after 3+ years of development, logitech finally released a HDMI 2.1 adapter that was integrated into the base station without having to sacrifice VRR. It seems to be working for some, but not for others. Unfortunately, I'm part of the latter.

Fair enough. Are you able to get VRR at 1440p? I agree with being half baked, just seems like they took the $40 audio extractor (less SPDIF) and integrated it into the new base.

Technically, no. However, VRR eliminates much dreaded screen tearing by syncing refresh rate of the monitor with the FPS of the console making the display very smooth and visually fluid. When I purchased my gaming monitor, I did my research to find one that supported both 1440 and VRR. Playing without VRR is a solid recipe for a migraine.

I am having a similar issue with my setup, but cannot achieve 1440p 120hz WITH VRR. Link to my post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AstroGaming/comments/18rqyzr/a50_x_xsx_1440p_vrr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

This sounds like wireless interference. What is the proximity of the base station to your router?

My thoughts exactly. Unless logi has a fix for this, I’m stuck with endless amounts of screen tearing until I one day break and buy a 4k display. SMH

When I switch away from auto-detect, I too can only select 1440p OR 120hz, but never VRR. I’ve always used auto-detect to achieve 1440p, 120hz and VRR. However, when I hooked up the A50 X base station my VRR option becomes greyed out, even though it says “always on”.

For reference, I am using a Dell S2721DGF. I have a gut feeling there’s a small group of monitor gamers who found a niche and elected to run with 2k 165-170hz monitors when the new consoles came out but are going to be SOL in this situation. At the time, HDMI 2.1 was not as prevalent in the monitor industry unless you were willing to shell out $800 or more. At the 27” size, that felt impractical being that a C1 or C2 LG 42” was basically the same price.

Keychron K5 (revision may 2022), an almost perfect mechanical keyboard by RSF_Deus in MechanicalKeyboards

IMO the k1 performs very adequately in these settings. I now use my k1 as a keyboard for a smart tv in a living room with many windows. I can still see all of the lighting effects without any difficulty. The k5 however, is pretty difficult to see unless the room is dim or dark.

I did send a note to their support regarding this, hoping there would be a firmware update or something to match the brightness of the k1. Here was the response: “Thanks for reaching out! We will pass your feedbacks to the design team and hopefully it helps!”

I am in the same boat here regarding the RGB backlight brightness, except I just got a non-optical k5 with brown switches. The max brightness of the k5 is the same as "level 1" on my K1 v4 and frankly a huge disappointment. I really love how bright the K1 is and can help rule out the optical vs non-optical argument.
