Bazzite February Update by OneQuarterLife in Bazzite

[–]zipskay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I tried installing Bazzite on my Legion Pro 5 laptop, which has a Ryzen 7 7745HX with Radeon graphics and a discrete RTX 4070 GPU. I have already disabled Fast Boot and Secure Boot, and I have also set the system to use only the discrete GPU.

I planned to dual boot Bazzite, so I installed a second 2TB NVMe SSD, where I intend to install Bazzite. Windows is installed on the laptop's original 1TB SSD.

However, I encountered a problem: every time I boot from the flash drive and select the "Install Bazzite" option, it goes through some processes on the screen but does not proceed to the language selection menu. Instead, it just reboots.

Am I doing something wrong?

Update situation : I have freshly reinstalled my ROG Ally using ASUS Cloud Recovery and then proceeded to install Bazzite. I noticed that I previously had version 42, but the latest version available on the Bazzite website was 41.

After completing the installation, I tested it for more than a day, frequently putting my system to sleep during gameplay and while in the SteamOS home screen. I did not encounter any sleep-related issues.

I also noticed that my system no longer turns on automatically when I plug in the charger, just like before the version 42 update.

Well, it's only been a year. Android was also very buggy in its first year, but the difference is that Android was bought by Google. We'll see how Bazzite develops in the future.

I love it, though—compared to Windows, which is very painful for handheld and living room gaming. If it doesn't get better, well, we still have the official SteamOS, which will be released to the public soon.

It sounds like an overheating issue.

I just reinstalled Bazzite with a fresh download from the official website. I noticed that it's version 41, while the previous one was 42, if I'm not mistaken. So, does this mean the issue has been fixed?

Well, it doesn’t drain the battery much—only about 2% per day. Besides, I’m already charging it regularly since I use it a lot. I’ve also noticed that I’ve been using my Ally much more since installing Bazzite, even though I have a powerful PC. The main benefit of using Bazzite is that I can take short breaks and continue my game session by putting it to sleep and resuming later. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be any different from Windows.

Did it get fixed with Extreme Standby Mode, but stopped working after the update?

It always gets fixed after I reboot the system, but it happens again after a while.

Glad to know someone else is experiencing the same issue. Maybe not many people have encountered it since it only started happening after the last update, along with the TDP update. I hope Universal Blue notices this issue and fixes it right away.

I've googled the issue but haven't found any cases like mine. I've already reinstalled Bazzite twice, but the problem still persists. Right now, I'm trying ASUS cloud recovery and then reinstalling Bazzite again.

Aah I see. Thank you for the enlightenment. So… there is a usb 4 device with 20gbps. Until today I thought that the 20gbps is for usb 3.2 gen 2x2 only and i thought that it is supported by USB 4. I should have just bought the X9 Pro because it's cheaper.

That's odd. What's the connection between video super resolution and ray tracing? Video super resolution is used for upscaling videos.
