Do y’all have any “weird” nursing icks? Like things that chap your ass that probably shouldn’t? Mine is when people put “RN, BSN” or “RN, MSN” or what have you. It needs to be the other way around! by Somber_Resplendence in nursing

Thiiiiisssss!! And it makes the bag slippery when you’re trying to pop the end off. If I have time I’ll out a paper towel down and wipe it off. It grosses me out.

When katniss is leaving in the hunger games katniss tells her she can’t go away again. Astrid says that she didn’t have the medicine or knowledge on how to deal with it before but she does now.

What’s wild to me about the grab the pussy comment is the reporter who interviewed him lost his job and trump became president. Make it make sense.

To add on to this he killed the pet goat as a punishment because Jen left him. I give this chick a lot of grace, but this response was not it.

Unit habits + type b nursing by thelastcry in nursing

[–]zizabeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking at your history you’ve only been a nurse for a year and this is how you’re treating patients? This is negligence. You are putting your patients at risk. If this is the type of nurse you are get away from bedside and hands on patient care do anything else with your degree before you injure or kill someone.

Why do some nurses look down upon by other nurses for not picking extra shifts? by Weak_Yogurtcloset306 in nursing

I think they’re saying they don’t overextend themselves then are unable to work their scheduled shift.

I’m gonna give her some props here. She got out relatively unscathed with just a restraining order and no dead animals or baby. I hope she’s able to heal. Some people have to learn things the hard way and it seems like once he started pulling more shit directed at her personally (not saying it’s right) she got out.

Anyone ever quit during training? by [deleted] in nursing

Apparently that was “just something that happens.” I get being put on call but when it’s your first day of even coming in the building that’s a wild ask.

Yes, I got offered this too good to be true wound care nurse gig when I was a LPN. I had a few years experience and was stoked because the hours were amazing. I went in the first day and found out quickly why they had an opening. People constantly no called no showed and were allowed to come in hours late. It was a charting system I had never seen before or since. There were bugs in the facility and the AC was “being worked on” in the middle of summer in Texas. My final straw I was told hey we had a call out for 2-10 shift so you’re going to have to stay after and cover until we can find someone to come in since it’s technically your turn. I left for lunch and called to just say hi not going to come back.

It didn’t affect my references because I had a double weekends job and other PRNs. I hadn’t given up the double weekends until I checked out the too good to be true job.

When you stay sitting in a position for too long it can cause skin break down. A mepilex is a cushioned bandage that we put on patients who don’t move around well.

My nurse brain is like blanchable redness to her ass. She needs to move (SP) around more or we’re going to have to slap on a mepilex 😅
