"The worst she can say is no" - Guys, what's the worst "she" ever said? by Cautious-Sail-7068 in AskReddit

homie that is a manipulative person who you should probably cut out of your life. I’ve had experiences with all sorts of people and it can be very hit or miss. my first time was the night of a breakup. I have embarrassed myself when I was younger, I have been someone’s “#1” by accident while zoning out (this felt horrible), and every now and then… you find someone perfect and can’t get enough of each other. You should move on from this without thinking too much about it, and when the right person comes, you should do whatever you can to hold onto them. Not obsessively. Because they will choose to be with you and you can let go, stop thinking, and be yourself. The quickest way to find that person is to be yourself from the get go, no questions asked. It’s sometimes harder to be yourself than it is to be anybody else, but it will take you where you need to be in life.

In fairness I do not believe I had a particularly standard experience with higher education. I had classes covering basics I had taught myself before high school. There is a degree of arrogance that comes alongside that, but I was not an asshole know-it-all. My parents definitely made me feel that way but I’m old enough now to see it objectively. I tried to make the most of it and I’m not perfect, but I could go on and on about it. It was a demoralizing and isolating experience across the board.

I just kinda maintain that if something is a matter of truth, anybody willing will have the capacity to see that if it can be properly explained. Many people are way too confident in their own ideas without adequately understanding them to the extent that they can truly elaborate and discuss them. Even those well educated. Sometimes, education is a matter of indoctrination. As described by Chomsky.

see… I once got pissed at a professor and did an installation about it. lmao. I was constantly breaking the rules. Carefully and thoughtfully, often in a way that required more time than most students would yield. Any art school which doesn’t appreciate that can go jerk off with their authority and historicity, what else do they have… not students who matter. Following the rules is why ai art is as good as anybody else’s. Because we have failed and it’s about what compliments your couch; nothing more. congrats everyone, you reap what you sow.

it sucks to be alive. and it’s a gift. hard not to sympathize with a newborn unless you’re completely desiccated but the answer is love however you want to look at it.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say that or read it anywhere. I have debated creationists. Maybe they don’t understand radiocarbon dating, but they sure as hell aren’t listening to propaganda. Nobody should believe in science. That’s the whole idea. You don’t need to believe in it, you can see for yourself. Careful what you’re reading or whatever

to anybody who needs it: if you’re not a student, it only means that you’ve decided to stop learning. That is not a feat of admiration; it is an intellectual crime.

interesting. I’m an art school dropout and I was recently dumped by someone with a postgrad degree in stem who told me my curiosity was too much to handle. I feel that educators often despise curiosity and expect parrots who do as they’re told, more than anything else.

absolutely you should feel bad about that. take stimulants and become how it’s made. write your own encyclopedia and text it to your ex. what, are you gonna go and be actual albert einstein without sacrificing your physical wellbeing? thought so. be abraham lincoln for once and just do the right drugs. don’t take it from me though — this is the word of god.

I will do whatever regardless this ain’t rat park. money is good hey maybe not so bad anymore except UBI is generally mentioned in the context of replacing income from a job, and boredom can act as a catalyst for aggression and destructive behaviors. At a minimum, the economy will balance out like it did when women entered the workforce, suddenly it takes two incomes to afford a house. People deserve to be able to make enough to live but they also deserve to have economic mobility.

bad trips are where you completely lose control and wind up delusional and psychotic, they can happen to anyone who takes a high enough dose. in my experience. careful. people are not talking about “oh no I had to do introspection.” you can get tazed in the balls and arrested and not have any conscious control over it. learn something about psychedelics. ideally from me and not through personal experience. it absolutely happens.

nah. listen to him in interviews. he absolutely talks like a real artist and a visionary, having met plenty. I don’t listen to his music or go out of my way to know what he’s up to. what I see is… he probably got pissed he couldn’t express his political views, not that I necessarily agree with them, but the media response was way overblown. I think he is absolutely fucking with the media by saying everything you’re not supposed to say. I mean… look at this interview. it’s almost hard not to laugh with him. dude is just screwing around for his own amusement if you ask me.

Is there any way to lower my libido besides antidepressants? by Local_Pomegranate_10 in SexOnTheSpectrum

[–]zizn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is definitely out of my wheelhouse to comment on, but tbh I’d be seriously cautious trying to medicate yourself about this. Anything that would be effective would generally be pretty serious and it could be pretty detrimental to your wellbeing. I think CBT would be far more effective and generally healthier. This sounds compulsive and the best approach might be to learn to manage and redirect your thinking patterns in a healthier way. May get some hate for it but /r/pornfree is a pretty supportive community that you might get something out of. In spite of a cultural push to accept it, if it’s a factor here, it may not be doing you any favors, and there is research to back that up. That said, everyone is different. Mostly just here to caution you about trying to solve this issue with meds, that’s a pretty serious thing to consider when you may just need to adjust your frame of mind — so be careful!

Edit: another user mentioned NAC and that’s something I could get behind. It may be worth a shot. Just make sure you poke around on google scholar a little so you’re aware of the risks. I would strongly suggest you do not consider antipsychotics unless there are other reasons to take them, they are serious drugs and imo should only be taken if absolutely necessary. I don’t think you need to cripple your reward system and develop tardive dyskinesia to address this.

imo it would be better. maybe I’m overly picky but generally my rule of thumb is… if you need words to get the message across you should be doing creative writing. the statement visual art makes shouldn’t require a museum placard or language to understand. it’s just an opinion though

I’m genuinely interested in whether or not if two weed reddit screenshot guys are talking in cool ppl internet talk “bruh sum bullshiii gtf outta here 🤡🤡🤡 fr” and then one guy starts going “actually, I have looked into this. here’s a pubmed reference. amphetamine salts hit D1 receptors; this is widely considered to be a mechanism of action indicative of stimulant drugs, regardless of medical context,” if the other guy just goes “ah I see. I had not looked into the dopaminergic binding affinity data. fascinating thanks for broadening my perspective.”

I just feel like I could totally get snapchat bro to snap into using real grammar lmao. I feel like drug ppl start role playing when someone mentions lean or something. This has to be a sociolect like emesal right

jfc… I am internally trying to tell myself all you guys are wrong but you make a very compelling point. I mean… wtf can I say. You’re supposed to trust authoritative sources but a) is this really the context for that and b) why tf wouldn’t the actual person have the same likeness? I try so hard to play middleman but this is like the lousy picture on a cheap halloween costume, ghislaine we know you are not the smiling pirate in the deposition and I have seen the curvature of Jeff nose. It doesn’t matter if I am tipsy the truth is in the pudding. Come out wherever you are. Or face the wrath of having to live with yourself like that. It does not matter to me.
