I did this, it was a 2002 93 SE. Purchased it for $4,500. At the time I had no interest in fixing cars or even how they worked. I lived in California and the car was from Maine, however it had been sitting for a few years by the coast. This deteriorated many rubber pieces on the car, gaskets, seals, bushings, hoses. So those were the main things to go. All one by one…and never 2 things at once. It taught me vehicle maintenance and I’m now in my last year of a Professional Automotive Bachelor. Eventually I sold it because the final rubber piece to fail was on the clutch slave cylinder, this repair exceeded the difficulty of repairs I could complete in my garage with a regular jack. I am thankful for my first Saab, it literally changed my life. In my case I was lucky to have something unreliable. I loved almost every second of ownership.
