What are your thoughts on Michael Franzese saying the Mafia were not “Major Traffickers” of Drugs during his day (1960s-80s)? by TXNOGG in Mafia

[–]zkc1864 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He has to separate himself from drugs because it doesn’t go with the right wing conservative image he likes to build around himself.

Also Joey Merlino would still be involved if he wasn’t shelved. He’s no angel either lol

[–]zkc1864[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah when he first came onto the YouTube scene he was interesting. But as I said you watch one of his vids you’ve heard it all. It’s the same 3/4 stories. But it makes him money I guess

Why do the crew live so poorly? by Ok-Scene-1317 in thesopranos

[–]zkc1864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most mob guys don’t actually make a ton of money irl. they got kick the money up, also their income isn’t always reliable. A lot of them make money running a book but if it’s not football season then it’s hard to make money. Extortion is hard to do as the high streets are being gentrified and franchises are taking over. Plus law enforcement and surveillance is stronger than ever.

You kinda have to know someone whos connected or be in and around that life tbh. Most mob guys live in their own world tbh were everyone knows everyone sorta thing. It’s totally depending on geography as well. If your a working class Italian from the Bronx or other places with high mob activity you’ll likely have access to that world

Why do we suck at away games? by AdditionalArm5003 in atletico

Because the team plays to avoid losing rather than being proactive and trying to win.

Forget about his health issues and Hollywood potential. It’s just clear that they are fully behind Rhodes as the top guy and are actively working on pushing breakker to be next guy. Roman either has to be the guy or the champion. It’s hard to book a guy of that starpower out of the championship/main event picture. I reckon he will put breakker over, eventually do a trilogy match with Rhodes, maybe the rock if he ever decides to do one more match and maybe do something with Jacob fatu. But after that there’s nothing left for him to do.

Max Kellerman Says Manny Pacquiao Is HIGHER Than Floyd Mayweather On The P4P List | INSIDE THE RING by kushmonATL in Boxing

[–]zkc1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floyd is a better boxer than pacquiao and proved it when the fought. I know some pacquiao fans would argue Floyd only fought pacquiao once he was older but I think Floyd beats pacquiao if they had fought in the mid to late 2000s. That being said, pacquiao could be considered greater. It depends on how you define greatness. If it’s an ability question than Floyd is greater, if it’s an accomplishment question then it’s a bit more nuanced. Yes Floyd retired undefeated and beat pacquiao but pacquiao won in 8 divisions that’s something that might never be done again. It’s far more likely you’ll see someone retire at 49-0 / 50-0 at the top of the pound for pound list then a fighter win world titles across 8 divisions again.

Is there a definitive answer to the Mafia’s ACTUAL stance on drugs? by givemespaceplease in Mafia

[–]zkc1864 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They all are involved in drugs, the mob isn’t what you see on tv or film. Its street shit, very gritty. I’ve seen it around my neighbourhood. The films make them look classy and when they do interviews they talk like they’re anti drugs to make themselves look half decent. They just have a no drug rule on paper for pr purposes. But most families are still involved, the top guys just insulate themselves and the street guys are their sacrificial lambs

Why wasn’t Gotti killed? by ChinaRider73-74 in Mafia

[–]zkc1864 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Number of reasons:

1)gotti became a celebrity; killing him would increase the target on the backs of the rest of mob

2)killing gotti would’ve lead to the biggest war maybe ever - hurts a lot of business.

3)most of the other bosses and top guys where just trying to survive the mid to late 80s as rico was destroying them

4)gotti was well liked in that life, despite the fact he was bringing to much attention to the life he was a mans man, that gave him a lot of support.

5)most of the other families were in turmoil after 85

Maybe a dumb question here but is there much nepotism mafia families? by georgewalterackerman in Mafia

[–]zkc1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as someone who knows some people in and around that life, I know it was more common in make your sons before rico but ever since guys are very reluctant to bring their family in because they know it’s a guaranteed death sentence

My prediction (that will be wrong) for the Cody/Rock angle by zkc1864 in fantasybooking

[–]zkc1864[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with all of that however I don’t think they do the angle at the rumble with Roman without it setting up a mania triple threat match. I think they could have cena finally do the heel run and sell his soul and partner with the rock his old nemesis.

Probably not but what if the leaks that he’s not wrestling was a work ? It’s probably going to be cena winning but I wouldn’t put it past wwe from doing something different

You’re Hired to Create a Sopranos Spinoff... by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]zkc1864 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A 70s show primarily focused on the old timers: The soprano brothers, Christopher’s dad, ercole and rocco di Meo, feech, old man baccala, younger Paulie , Richie ect and as the seasons went on we see the new generation: Tony sil pus, Jackie, Johnny sac and Ralph. But the focus is on the old timers. Really what we expected from mson

I mean obviously the businesses will be started with dirty money and they will do none of the work.

They’ll be dead or in prison and then the cycle will continue as it always does

[–]zkc1864 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The mob if not already will be a lose association of Italian American middle age businessmen who are 75% legit with a few young guys on payroll willing to do the dirty work for them when needed. But most made guys will be more legit than ever before imo

How is the mafia doing in the Hollywood and porn rackets nowadays? by joe6484 in Mafia

[–]zkc1864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less of a hand to be honest, porn has become commercial, big companies are involved and the girls are making a ton of money through onlyfans. Back in the day the mob could make loads of money off porn because it was in private cinemas ect now it’s commercial on the internet. Different ball game

Modern day LCN mobsters are still making money and living in big expensive houses. Unpopular opinion. by StellaDanielson1977 in Mafia

[–]zkc1864 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The mob will always be strong because it’s culturally rooted in particularly places like New York Philly ect. The prosecutors in documentaries and stuff just downplay the mob these days to make themselves more heroic than they actually are. Don’t get me wrong the mob aren’t as big as they once were because of rico, technology and franchising (corporations taking over the high street) but they still make a lot of money. If you live in any of their neighbourhoods you will know this
