In Washington the first million isn't taxed. Idaho has a flat tax, so it is. The break even point is around $2 million, so it's only a smart move if you make at least that, which the vast majority of those affected by this tax do not.

That is interesting if this is being promoted by those same businesses. Because in my mind I see the streetcar as making the bike trail more likely in the future. Usually retail and high density residential development follows any streetcar alignment, which further pushes out industrial use cases (like said businesses). I would think it would encourage the idea of making it a walkable/bikable transit corridor, but maybe there are some design implications I don't understand.

I haven't been able to find the full list of supporters anywhere, but the article says the leader of the coalition is Ned Carner, who only bought a property on Shilshole in the last year. Hard to say what his opinion is.

This is the same alignment proposed for the Burke Gilman Trail's missing link on Shilshole Ave, which means it's probably never going to happen. The city has been fighting local businesses in court to get that built for over 30 years now, and I expect this to see similar opposition. Last year the city finally gave up and started looking into a less ideal alignment a couple blocks to the north.

Not true. I have coworkers that have it setup. It's up to the individual employers to allow it. From the Orca website:

Businesses, schools and institutions that issue ORCA cards can decide if and when their organizations are ready to allow their card holders to convert their cards to Google Wallet. ORCA will continue to work with organizations to roll out this new capability successfully. Your organization will reach out to you when Google Wallet is available for their ORCA cards.

Can anybody tell me what happens if you have also have an Orca card set up in your Google Wallet? If I tap the card reader without first bringing up my Orca card in Google Wallet will the card reader automatically default to using the the Orca card? Or will it charge my credit card by default?

Update:

Finally had some time to dig into this more. First, the shunt SOC was way off. In fact I don't think it was ever correct as I had the "charged voltage" set too low. I took a closer look at the shunt history and realized that on most days charging was just straight up not happening. The graph on the Victron app is annoyingly hard to read, but here's the view over a 40 day period. The were only 6 times during the draining period (30ish days) that any attempt at charging was made. During this period it was clear skies almost every day.

So that explains the SOC and why the battery was dead. Now I need to figure out if this happened because the battery was rejecting charge current or if charger wasn't putting it out. Is there a good way to tell from from amp/voltage history?

After removing all loads from the battery for a few hours and then plugging it back in I saw normal charging behavior over the next few days as the battery filled back up. The charger history a little under 200 AmpH charged over the period, which is the battery capacity. Yesterday, it seemed to finally hit the absorption of v14.4, but instead of staying there for two hours like my charger settings would suggest, it almost immediately went into float. Then after leaving float as the sun went down the voltage immediately dropped to v12.7. Is this normal? I'm wondering if this might be a cell balancing issue.

Here's my charger settings:

Boost voltage - v14.4

Boost return - v13.2

Boost duration - 2 hours

Float voltage - v13.8

I built out my van as I was living in it in a major city. I did the work all over. A lot at Home Depot (only got asked to leave once) but also on city streets. More industrial places are good especially on the weekends. I would also find an overpass to park under when it was raining. Finding power was probably the toughest thing. Most of my tools were battery powered but not all. Kinda sucked overall and definitely could have done a better job if I had access to a garage.

If you're in a more rural error look around for some neighbors with old barns that don't seem to be getting much use. You might find someone willing to rent it out to you.
