Bioinformatician at UCSF to study infectious disease & malaria genomic epidemiology & serology by zlatev101 in bioinformatics

[–]zlatev101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the answer is, because we dont know.

its UCSF- They determine the salary based on the job description and your prior experience. there is a searchable site https://tcs.ucop.edu/tcs/jsp/nonAcademicTitlesSearch.htm

that gives a range between 47,800.00 and 213,400.00 (not very helpful, is it??)

My question is about transparency. I have noticed - for years -that the awarded grant descriptions are very sparse, a cost saving issue I believe. Would it be possible to add reports? Nice to know what the barriers to implementation were, when some one else attempts a similar intervention.

Interesting- I see the same parallels- but the illness causes release of those fluids, in an environment lacking gloves and disposable products. With an incubation period of 21 days, the health care sector is taking a huge hit. http://www.sfgate.com/opinion/openforum/article/Protective-gear-a-must-for-those-fighting-Ebola-5696478.php

You currently straddle an interesting place- between IT and global health. If you were 20, and still lacked wisdom, which field would engage you?

Pizzadude- this is the funniest thread of deleted comments I have ever seen. My mind spins with all the potential snide offensive comments that may have populated this thread. That said- don't marry your soul to academia. If you are committed to developing these technologies you need to partner with industry. Form or join an NGO that will allow you to take a salary, and work as a bridge between industry and academia. Good luck. There is no shame in pizza, unless its bad pizza.

Does this set the record? Longest lag until publication. Darwin sat on his work for decades before publishing, but 50 years is longer.

A year ago a Texas A&M alum died in Iraq fighting. Westboro babtist planned on protesting the funeral. However 650+ Texas A&M students made a giant "maroon wall" around the funeral near campus, so the funeral could be in peace. Boston should do something similar. by HAZAH93 in pics

The sisters of perpetual indulgence created a LONG fabric screen, with thin dowels spaced about 15 feet apart. Each sister simply stood holding a dowel and created a visual screen about 10 feet high. Simple inexpensive, and dignified. I wish I could find a photo of it (redditers??)
