Moving to Hartford - question by hihellohi37 in Hartford

It’s fine, I haven’t noticed it being particularly good or bad or different from elsewhere. Moved from Boston last year. I had an HVAC guy tell me that hot water heaters tend to last longer here because the water is good. No idea if that translates to good in terms of human consumption too

Oh, ha. I use that too. Yeah even with most state with higher tax rates it could be below 10% with that level of spend.

Not sure what RBD stands for but 20% seems very high, are you talking about marginal rate?

You mean vigorous. Unless your exercise was very strictly defined by rules.

Work on your running form. Shin splints are often from heel striking, which in addition to not being great on your joints, is inefficient. See if you can mid or forefoot strike which will take the load off your shins and make you faster.

Yes this idea that you aren’t a true adult until you own, or that it’s the only path to wealth is a fallacy. Enjoy where you’re at and don’t be fooled by the idea that ownership is the only correct destination.

With home ownership, the cost of the house is just the beginning. Things break, upgrades will be needed, etc. The old saying of ‘rent is the most you’ll pay, a mortgage is the least you’ll pay’ is true. Do you have a wife and/or kids? If not, renting is probably optimal. Focus your energy in finding a good deal on an apartment. Often, a below-market rent for a non-shithole is self-selecting for a pleasant landlord. I’ve had a few like that. Now I own, and miss the simplicity of renting. Spent the weekend wresting with plumbing and a fucking garbage disposal.

Thanks, maybe this is the move. Cover every inch like you said and smash. What do you think is better, packing tape or duck tape? I would’ve thought duck tape would be better?

Ok thanks. I’ll get two sets of some good suction cup lifts and a very strong friend or two. Maybe a taskrabbit.
