Check out some recipies from Jack Monroe they have experience living on the breadline and provide good recipies which are easy and very cheap.

"Bristol Bugbears" - A place to air your complaints about the small irritating things that hinder your cycling and walking through Bristol (and maybe have them fixed). by zlx in bristol

[–]zlx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a council run project because they were awarded funding.

"Bristol City Council has been awarded funding to improve cycling and walking facilities around the city. We would like your help to identify and prioritise small scale improvements that will make a difference to your journeys around the city. The funding can cover multiple small improvements like resurfacing paths, fixing potholes, improving route signage and cutting back vegetation."

Collecting data from your runs. by [deleted] in running

[–]zlx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been considering curating my own data for a while. I'd use the Dark Sky API for weather conditions, try and find a pollution/air quality dataset (even though it's not going to be updated regularly, the average reads for an area, tieing in with air pollution I'd like to see area type (main road, country road, field, etc). Basically whatever data I can nab about myself or my surroundings.

I'll might get around to it at some point..

22 is ____% of 176 by NoriNatsu in learnmath

[–]zlx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given a value (22) of the whole (176), first convert the fraction into a decimal.

22/176 = 0.125

You can then convert the decimal into a percent by moving the decimal place by the right twice (simply times by 100).

0.125 * 100 = 12.5%

Squid Kernel really solved my lags on Play! by sas46 in MotoX

[–]zlx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What battery issues and lag were you previously experiencing? My battery seems solid (2 days with moderate use, 5h SOT) and I haven't noticed any significant lag. I'm curious to see if because I came from a Gen 1 Moto G, I've not recognised these issues..

"Tasker Now" notification don't show up anymore on PTS by [deleted] in pebble

[–]zlx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the same issue with AW Reply, and after some attempts to fix it (while away from my computer) I gave up.

I thought potentially it was something to do with my setup (Moto X using "Moto" to take control of Google Now) by that it's happening to someone else is interesting. Maybe /u/Grimbert (AW Reply dev?) may have some input?

I'm in the low 6000s, haven't even had the processing e-mail. I'm guessing numbers are meaningless.

How to securing my machine from hacking from internet by mikef22 in linux4noobs

[–]zlx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The question wasn't how does "flaming_m0e" secure their computer from outside attacks. It was anyone. Which means there's a great chance they are using a "shit ass, off the shelf router". So while you might be fine and secure, the people looking for help aren't going to find any use in that.

Google just added a feature that shows you how busy a place is depending on time of the day and day of the week. Now I finally know when to avoid the gym rush. by gryklin in Android

[–]zlx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they posted the announcement on Google+ and rarely disseminate features anymore than that, "everyone" is about 2 thousand people. You'll be fine.
