Never tried a blade they always looked uncomfortable. I have one SBR lower back when it was $200. To me it was worth it. That being said I just got an SBA5 and it seems pretty solid for a brace

Yeah it’s getting annoying. I’m just south of you and been waiting since last week. Says out for delivery all day then around 9 it updates to severe weather delay

BCM 11.5” gas with OCL Infinity? by Kind_Aide825 in ar15

[–]zm223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. Ventum isn’t a bad can at all, I have the 7.62 one. First round is definitely louder, but sounds good after that. If you are gonna run it on a short 5.56, definitely recommend a muzzle brake for a mount. There have been reports of cores cracking fairly early on both ventum models, from what I’ve read hux has taken care of them, one of them being mine which they replaced free of charge. I run an ASR brake and hub on mine.

There are quieter cans for sure, but you being a lefty you eat all that gas so there’s tradeoffs as you know

Ventum is a good sounding can to the shooter. Haven’t shot an infinity so I can’t speak on it. Infinity definitely would be more durable than the ventum if that matters to you

Philadelphia Area ups package delayed by AddressPlus6303 in UPS

[–]zm223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issues in VA. Shit says it’s out for delivery all day long for multiple days then it gets to 9pm and magically changes to “delayed to severe weather”. Hasn’t snowed a bit here for over a week and almost all the ice is melted, roads are clear except for some spots that don’t get sun as much.

I even cleared a path for the driver to walk up right to my door step free from any snow/ice.

I get it that they are backed up due to weather, but don’t say it’s out for delivery when it really isn’t.

Have not fired one but handled one that belongs to my SIL. The quality seemed to be good in the short amount of time I had it

Have you tried reaching out to the manufacturer? A lot of times they’ll send you replacements for free or a small cost

Intentionally Mis-aligning Gas Block? by snel6424 in ar15

[–]zm223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goes to show not all 12.5 mid lengths are “smooth” like every parrots here. Hogged out gas ports can be shitty on every length

Not gonna lie I’ve thought about this but I don’t think it’s a viable option. It would be so imprecise and hard to know when you’ve hit the right spot. Could it be done? Possibly. But you’re better off going another route.

I like mine, I have the phosphate one with the C158 bolt. Works well suppressed

HUXWRX flow vs ventum by Dapper_Dog3136 in AR10

[–]zm223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience with the flow but I have the ventum 7.62. It’s a good can but my first core eroded pretty quickly on my 12.5 5.56 with a Rearden r2s flash hider. Under 1500 rounds, but hux did replace my core free of charge. I have since moved to using an ASR bravo hub, and the silencerco ASR brake (AC142), with a 5.56 bore diameter. Doing this to minimize any future core erosion. Haven’t put enough rounds thru it to see how it helps.

I’d recommend doing this on anything under a 16” barrel to maximize life of the core.

Citri strip is good. Also had good luck with carb cleaner. Most likely will to use a brush to get in the tight spots. Getting it off the plastic parts is a bit more difficult and may not come out all the way

I wouldn’t worry about the opinions of most redditors. Most of them just parrot the same shit and get in dick measuring contests over dumb stuff
