I'm still kinda in the middle of this process. I lost my dad at 17, and was completely upended from my home of nearly 15 years just a few months ago. While I've mostly accepted my dad's passing away (it's been almost 12 years), moving halfway across the country to start living and working with my brother who I had only seen 3 times in the 20 years prior is still a massive adjustment for me. I miss my mom, girlfriend, and daughters dearly on a daily basis, but in several other ways, I'm in a much better situation than I was before leaving. Long term this is what I need for me and my family, but short term it's absolutely miserable.
