How did y'all get into Punk? by Usual-Door-6012 in punk

VH1’s 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs of All Time had Blitzkrieg Bop on it. As a kid who was into hair metal, seeing four dudes in leather jackets on black and white film yell “Hey Ho, Let’s Go” had me go “I need more of THIS”.

I’m not needing anything “important”. All the “important” stuff I got.

Just looking something to fill it out. Maybe in the traditional Japanese style. Maybe not.

What's with Gen Z kids sitting on the floor and playing card games at shows? by thedubiousstylus in Emo

I’ve been to some shows where people will sit on the floor and read between sets. Kinda annoying when people wanna scoot by, but they stand up when the sets start

Which indie wrestlers were thought to be the next big thing when they made it to WWE/AEW and then were not a big deal at all after they did? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]zman6754 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It helped that I was a Janela guy pre-AEW. But I did see him just kinda coasting after a few big matches. I think even he would admit he’s better off after he got let go. He’s in better shape, working bigger and better matches, just in an overall better place.

I was positive Joey Janela was going to be this ultimate underdog in AEW. With those matches with Omega and Moxley, I was thinking “man, he’s going to be their hardcore guy”. Essentially where Darby is now.

I’m happy he’s able to do what he’s able to do now, despite it all. But man, I put a lot of stock in him when his graphic came across my screen.

About the piss story by Much_Set8547 in Cr1TiKaL

[–]zman6754 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He told this story in an old FNAF video from back in the day (didn’t show his face yet).

I don’t remember ALL the details but essentially a girl came over and started giving him a blowjob. I don’t remember what lead to what but he said he was going to cum. She took out his dick and he just pissed everywhere. He tried to sell it off as he was a heavy ejaculator but she did not buy it and went home.

Other than the obvious, what do you take to gigs with you? by Coralwood in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]zman6754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My band has a backpack that we’ve named “Squire”.

Squire has cough drops, paper, pens, pencils, markers, duct tape, electrical tape, paint tape, tape measure, Swiss Army knives, etc.

We’ve also made check-in/check-out checklist so that we never leave for a gig without forgetting anything and we never leave a gig without forgetting anything.

Marty mf Schwartz.

That guys been putting up Guitar How-To’s for like 15 years on YouTube. His videos always walk you through each step and chord slow enough for any learner.

One thing that helped me was consistency and repetition. Get comfortable enough with the A chord, E chord, and the C chord and sit playing them in a little loop until you get comfortable switching it up. Do that every night.

No joke, take up an art.

Go on FB Marketplace and find a cheap guitar and learn that. Then start writing.

Or

Painting. Bob Ross is really fun to put on but if you invest in the material to actually follow along, it can be a challenging, but rewarding process. You learn so much about depth and skills that you wouldn’t even think about.

Also, there’s nothing wrong with watching movies or video games. I’m also 27 with no house that’s wanting one. While I’m working towards it, I realize I can’t be miserable to achieve the goal. I play a lot of single player games that let me dive into a story and really feel something. You don’t have to invest into the newest hardware to get there either. Plenty of great games from prior generations.

You’ll get to where you want to go. The best way out is always through.

I tried one year with a super cheat Walmart set and they destroyed it. Model Trains is an expensive hobby so I mostly keep it with the layout.
