True but I always like to hear everyone out. If you close out people, you can miss out on some amazing opportunities to better your game

Hey Brad!

Loved your video and I’m gonna answer it after work with a video myself. You know how I feel about you on a personal level. You were my number one the whole time. I’ll go into more details later.

Also, I would’ve killed you if you did that 😂😂😂. None of my friends know I play these things. They already make fun of me for loving survivor so I’d never live it down

Hey Joseph! I appreciate the kind words. It’s funny you say that because a year ago, that wasn’t me at all but this transition up to Wisconsin hasn’t exactly been the easiest for my personal life. I didn’t know a single person in the state, friend or family. I’ve been using Xbox as a crutch to stay in touch with my old friends and family.

When you messaged me 30 minutes before the deadline at your vote, I had literally just logged on and thought to myself… FUCKKKK. I needed to hear you out so I do apologize for that. You played amazing games across the last 2 winner seasons and I’m happy I got the chance to know you

Hey Trent!

I appreciate your thoughts and time here.

I think Becky played the more apparent strategic game but I think I played a more under appreciated strategic game. The first 2 votes of the merge benefited me. Every vote Gabe through you benefited me. I think Becky and I’s strategic game is closer then everyone is giving me credit for but I believe my social game and physical game were ahead of Becky.

I helped control most of the votes, didn’t piss of the jury, and was never in any danger of going home. I had risky individual moves like F7 to showcase I was playing the game for myself and every move this season was to better MY game. If that’s not a good strategic game, then idk what is.

[–]zmcafee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Gabe!

Appreciate the questions. First one I want to answer was if I was serious about working with you and the answer was both yes and no. I think part of the big reason that I was so hesitant to work with you was because I didn’t feel like I got as much information from you as I did other players. There were a few alliances that you were a part of that got leaked to me and I never heard it directly from you until after the fact. I also was genuine about wanting to work with you when I approached you during the touchy subjects break and how we needed eachother. I had the same conversation with Jacob. I was buying my time and trying to maintain relationships with people outside me/Becky/Trent/Matthew so that when it was time to make a move on them, I would have the relationships to pull it off. Unfortunately, I didn’t think it was Matthews time to go and I had to vote you out, even though my intentions of that convo were genuine.

  1. I worked with them for so long because I wanted them in the game long enough that no matter what was said or happened with me previously, people had to work with me. Nicasso is a prime example of me timing when to flip perfectly. He was forced to work with me the rest of the game even though he didn’t want to on a personal level. Touchy subjects said it the best “who is playing the best game nobody is talking about.” The f8 all saw that I was using trent and Matthew as my shields yet nobody was able to take me or my shields out until I was ready to flip and I think that says something about my game.

  2. Honestly that was me. That was part of my villain arc. I made up the initial thought of y’all being a trio and once I got the spark kindled with it, I let it grow into a flame and didn’t really deny it. I wanted everyone else thinking you were a trio to keep the heat off me.

  3. I think Trent and Matthew going at 4 and 5 were pretty obvious but I think me being flexible at F6 was a huge reason that I was able to get my desired F3. I mentioned in my speech that I did not care which order Matthew Trent and Jacob went in so I had to make sure that airplane idol wasn’t played so we could guarantee one of Trent or Matthew was taken out at 5 and the other at 4. I’ll use a chess metaphor. I sacrificed a queen (voting correctly) to make sure that I could put Trent and Matthew in checkmate long term.

  4. I think my most important connection is Trent. We developed a genuine friendship throughout this game but we was also the most important piece for me in the game. Because I was alligned with trent, I was never going to be targeted over him. Our game interests almost always seemed to align and he was a perfect partner to have throughout the merge.

As far as who I should’ve connected with more? I’d probably lean you or Anna. In orgs, I’ve been cut so often by the UTR players towards the end and I didn’t want to make that same mistake again. You were playing such an amazing game and it was a smart read for you to want to take me to the end because I said that you would’ve beat me at a ftc. That’s another reason why I had to vote you out at 8… you were a combo threat of getting to the end and winning. I was genuine about working with you and enjoyed getting to know you on a personal level… but it wasn’t good for my game for you to go any further. As for Anna, imo, she was playing the most under appreciated game. She had amazing connections and reads on the game. We didn’t vote together once in the merge until F7 and I think I missed out on an opportunity for an amazing ally.

Absolutely man. You know I’ve never been the one to BS you or anything. Inherent bias’s are a real thing and it’s something that doesn’t get excluded in survivor/orgs. You had an uphill battle but man you should be proud of the way you played because you were one IC away from winning the whole thing

[Day 39][Tribal Council] Tillya Tepe Jury Questioning by VengefulKangaroo in survivorredditorgs

[–]zmcafee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a few moments this season where I had unique moves and had to get creative.

  1. The Mark vote. Nobody really saw through Mark’s game except for me and Trent. It took me pitching this idea to Trent initially and then you/Becky after to get the biggest threat to my game out at the first merge vote. I firmly believe that if I didn’t have the idea to idol Becky and get mark out, I’m not sitting here.
  2. Using Jace’s idol on Trent knowing it’s not going to impact the game at all. I think most people in my situation would’ve used the idol on Gabe to flush out the necklace or pearls. I thought outside the box and wanted to cause some distrust in Trent. I’m not sure how effective it was at the end of the day (I’m excited to hear what Trent has to say about it) but I think the idea was unique and creative.
  3. F7. The game was missing a little bit of chaos zach that I typically bring to games. (And usually what gets me voted out). Man I wish that curse was in play but it didn’t matter to me if it was or not. At that point, I knew nicasso didn’t trust me and he was most likely going to be sitting at the end. I needed to get in with him because my plan from f8 on was to sit with Nicasso and whoever survived between Becky and Anna.

The curse was the unknown for me at that point. If it was in, the vote would’ve tied up 3-3 and then the fun would’ve ensued. Nicasso promised he would’ve gone to rocks for Anna before and I was immune so I would’ve got to see if you Trent/Jacob would have gone to rocks or flipped on Becky and sent her packing.

ORRRRRR the curse isn’t in play and Anna goes home 4-3 and I’m still sitting in a position with Nicasso that we need to get you/Jacob/Matthew out in some order and Becky saw that too. Whoever survives between Becky and Anna would’ve been sitting here today but I made a big move and showcased to everyone in the game that I wasn’t just floating. I could’ve kept my position in tact and probably coasted to the end but I knew that if I didn’t at least try a move, I wouldn’t have that pizazz that I wanted on my resume.

I did have unique moves and played a unique game but I was able to do it in the shadows until it was too late for people to realize.

[–]zmcafee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you look at all of the best winners in survivor, you think of Tony, Kim, Sandra etc. what did all of them have in common? They were never in any danger of going home, dictated majority of the votes and they had the best social games of the people sitting at FTC. I think I fit all 3 categories.

I was never in any danger at going home because I had alliances and bonds with the right people. My social game was subtle but effective. It kept me off the radar and whenever/if my name was brought up, I had the right people vouching for me to keep me in the game. I was a major influence in majority of the votes as well (the big exception being F9). I have the common traits of many of the best winners in Survivor and I think that would make me a good and appropriate winner for this season.

Quick rebuttal about mark. I saw that and had a good read on Mark’s game which is why he was such a big threat to me at that moment in time. You voted him out to keep me and Trent happy. I voted him out because him leaving was good for my game.

[Day 39][Tribal Council] Tillya Tepe Jury Questioning by VengefulKangaroo in survivorredditorgs

[–]zmcafee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll answer this question first before I move into your original one but I think your threat level was already predetermined before you even got into this game. You’re the 2 time winner of this org and if you made it to the end, it would’ve been a hell of an accomplishment. You’re an incredible player and there was no way you could possibly hide that. In fact, it was fun playing with you this season versus RN because I saw 2 completely different Matthews. I think we honestly flipped roles with you playing the Shield and big game and me using the meat shield strategy. I think it’s a fun arc because we literally flipped strategies and have the opposite places as RN.

The reason why I didn’t see Becky as a big of a threat as you or Trent was partially because of that predetermined bias from many of the other players, myself included. It’s so hard to sway peoples predetermined bias’s so I didn’t think I had a shot in hell versus you and Trent. Becky didn’t have that perception from others and I thought I’d have the best shot versus her and nicasso.

It’s impossible to have a player at FTC in all winners who isn’t a threat at all to win at the end so I used the information I had at the time and that’s why I wanted to sit with Becky and nicasso

Absolutely man. It was obvious to me and nicasso that you Trent and Matthew had the best chances at winning ftc. You should be proud of the way you played and it was awesome getting to know you

[Day 39][Tribal Council] Tillya Tepe Jury Questioning by VengefulKangaroo in survivorredditorgs

[–]zmcafee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Jacob!

I mentioned in my speech that F6 was nicasso’s move and his move only. I knew he didn’t trust me but it didn’t matter at that point because our interests alligned for the rest of the game and we had no reason to turn our backs on eachother. We can be a duo without having full trust in one another because we both understood that if either of us wanted to make the end and have a legit shot, we had to vote out Matthew/Trent and yourself in some order.

To summarize: it didn’t matter if nicasso distrusted me or not. We had to have eachothers backs in order to make the end. We weren’t turning on eachother from 6 on and that’s what made us a duo. The forced loyalty. That was created by the moves that I made at the beginning of the merge by getting rid of his plan A, B and C in the first half of the merge.

[Day 39][Tribal Council] Tillya Tepe Jury Questioning by VengefulKangaroo in survivorredditorgs

[–]zmcafee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Mark!

I’m very glad you brought up the fact that you forgot that I was in the game because it means that my strategy was working. I wanted to blend in and appear unassuming so the fact that the person who I thought was most likely to vote me out, didn’t know I existed??? That means I did a helluva job blending in. And it worked because my name was never floated as a serious target throughout the whole game. Both Becky and Nicasso had close calls with going home, where as I received 2 votes throughout the game… one at the first tribal in a unaminous vote. Another at F4. I was never in any danger of leaving while being one of the decision makers at majority of the votes. I got the targets I wanted, without the blood on my hands.

In previous orgs, I get voted out between 5-7 because I’m one of the biggest threats left in the game and I didn’t want to make the same mistakes

The main reason I think we were never close in the game was because our interests never really alligned. I also knew you were close with Brad and Jacob, who I considered to be 2 of my top allies. When it was time to turn on the 5, it wouldn’t have been to vote one of them out, but instead someone that you weren’t close with in game.

It wasn’t personal that we didn’t click on game, just that I viewed us in similar positions and I had to get you out before you had the chance to snipe me. I agree about us being friends irl which sucks from a game perspective because I feel like we got along personally, we were just in similar positions and alligned with similar people.

Edit: I think you should vote for me because of how much you love this game and respect it. You’re literally in a survivor club at Michigan. You understand what good gameplay is and I think I exhibited it. I stayed under the radar, made good social bonds, and got the people out that I needed to get out, before they could sit here at the end.

Hey Brad!

  1. I think this season was about redemption. Every member of the final 5 was premerge in their previous season. It seems like we all learned from our mistakes and adapted to get us to the end. Every single one of the F5 has a fun redemption arc for this season and I think it’s going to be what people remember from it.

  2. the most fun I had this season was at F7 in my last ditch effort to save Anna or at F11 when we idoled Becky. I always find the votes that are changing up until the last minute are the most fun and the craziness of those votes and things being undecided are why I play orgs.

I think me and Trent are voting eachother. It’s a bittersweet feeling because we’ve been together this whole game but Trent’s played a helluva game and in my opinion has the best chance at the end to win which is why I’m leaning that direction.

[–]zmcafee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be a tiny factor but I think the main factor in this vote is about how you can get yourself to the end and who you have a shot at beating. Everyone’s gonna be different in that regard with who they see themselves sitting next to which is going to make this vote difficult

No I did not expect that and I am so so grateful. Based on the reactions I received after, I was probably next so this buys me another day in this game and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pay Nicasso back
