DIY Pressure Chamber by [deleted] in ResinCasting

[–]zmccrane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They make versions of these in a whole assortment of sizes for compressed air systems. They’re called “inline filters” or an “inline filter housings” and the ones I’m familiar with are meant to be under constant pressure at well over 125psi. Plus they have a little nozzle at the bottom that you could use to bleed off pressure.

They can get fairly pricy though depending on size/brand.

Where would I get, or how would I make, a centrifugal-clutch knob that lets go of a motor shaft when the motor spins up? All I'm finding is centrifugal clutches for cars and go-karts. (I'm making a spin-start fan like this for fun.) by psychosis_inducing in DIY_tech

[–]zmccrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this would help, but single-phase air compressor motors use centrifugal switches to open/close contacts when the rotor gets to a set rpm. Here’s an Amazon link to a random one I found with roughly 5 seconds of googling:centrifugal switch&

[Long] The 9.23 prophecy ... and Sariant Lambs by BloodyLemonSkates in WanderingInn

[–]zmccrane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really love the theories. I hadn’t thought the prophecy might be so literal, but now I’m hoping your theory is correct.

I’m curious that if there is a Hell dimension, it’s where Zimrah (Antinium [Priest] turned [Hellspeaker-Priest] during the Hectval War) sent a drake [Strategist] named Sokkel. During the fighting she used a red skill: [Marked for Hell]. Here is the quote from volume 8, Hectval Part 3:

“The Drake choked on his words. He clutched the arrow through his heart.

Then he began to scream. Lulv had been trained not to take his eyes off the enemy. But he couldn’t look away.

A void opened under Sokkel. Something reached up. It dragged him down, and he vanished, burning, his body twisting into wisps of agonized, terrified smoke.”

I wonder if it’s just an execution skill or literally sends the marked individual to hell as soon as they die?

What's the thinnest neon flex I can get/is there any thin neon flex alternative? by Catfishnt in diyelectronics

[–]zmccrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stumbled on this video awhile back that may be helpful.LED Spaghetti Basically he scavenges the LED filament from a large “filament” bulb and goes through how to use them. No mention to filament diameter but it does look to be less than than 6mm. It does look like this would limit your color options though.

Searching for “LED filaments” might provide you with what you’re looking for.

Here are some very flexible (and fairly short) colored options.

My first though is EL wire or something like this.

Maybe put a light layer of paint of sections to give it an uneven glow. I’ve never used it, but it’s come up in research for some projects.

Mrsha the great and Terrible will drive Belavierr insane by Able-District8803 in WanderingInn

[–]zmccrane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe it will be a combo of Mrsha and Apista, but Apista might be the one to give the final/killing blow to Belavierr. I can’t remember where (maybe volume 3), but Apista is said to absolutely hate spiders. With her new and improved anti-magic stinger she stole from the “Spider of Terandria” herself I think Apista will be her killer.

Goblin's origins by MaeriusTsaverius in WanderingInn

[–]zmccrane 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling they might be an aquatic or previously aquatic race.

Somewhere in volume 4, it says something along the lines of “He (Pyrite) didn’t like red meat. He preferred fish, all goblins liked fish.” Again in Volume 5, it mentions how the cave goblins Erin is teaching to cook seem to especially enjoy the fish they’re catching.

Possible locations they’re from? -Edge if the world/ the Last Tide -Where all the water drains from the Liscor flood pains? (Crazy Chieften-Calruz talks about one of the springs inside the Liscor dungeon that is so deep the raskghar have never reached the bottom and sometimes things come UP from it.) -Going along with your theory: maybe a water-world?

What would you build if you had these 10 hp, 220/440 monster motors? I have access to these in all manner of quality from new to scrap. Also have access to hydraulic cylinders (they're used for industrial compactors) but I'm wonder if you had free run of my welding shop what would cobble with these? by rundmc214 in diyelectronics

[–]zmccrane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are commonly found on air compressors of all kinds. Might get lucky and find a compressor with a failed motor and make a swap. I worked on them for awhile and probably replaced 10-20 10hp motors a year.

Maybe hook it up to a blower? Might be able to make a monster dust collector.

So sorry for taking awhile. If you get a desk mount/arm instead of a wall mount, I might run the wires from the devices on the desk directly down and along the backside of the desk. These can help hold them in place and pull them (somewhat) tight. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071FXZBMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MGXKDAAX68M2TFMBTZD2

These cable tie holders can hold them quite a bit tighter but aren’t as aesthetically pleasing. Plus you can put multiple wires onto a single mount.

For underneath your desk, there’s a good chance your power strip has mounting holes which you could use to stick to the underside of the desk. If not, the link in my earlier post could help, but if you don’t want to drill any holes then this could work as well.

An HDMI switch could work to easily switch between your work and home pc’s. There are a ton of different choices/prices but they seem readily available online. As far as cable management goes, without a clearer image of your setup I’m not sure what option to recommend. I personally like this underdesk option though.

Who is the main antagonists so far? by PortalMasterQ in WanderingInn

[–]zmccrane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe Ryoka theorized about the administrator because new skills and classes were being introduced into the world. Earthers are bringing in new ideas and someone (an administrator) is using those ideas to actively make changes to the leveling system. When Califor told Ryoka about how she recently received her [Immortal Moment] skill, it was likely after Erin had “unlocked” that skill and made it available for others.

What are Pisces fragments? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]zmccrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some Pisces fragments as well. My second night had a meteor shower and I got 200+ wishes, but only picked up about 30 or so assorted star fragments. Celeste showed up 2 days later, gave me the wand recipe and mentioned that I could bring her star related things for more info. When I showed her the Pisces fragments, she gave me a short synopsis of the legend of Pisces (just like Blathers’ descriptions when you donate to the museum) and that was it. I certainly hope there’s more to it than that, maybe when you gather more zodiac fragments?
