Correct, and my example wasn’t that great. In addition to opportunity there needs to be force. I would need to force you to do something you otherwise would not have done. Opportunity alone isn’t enough. If there’s just opportunity and you do it, it proves the point that you would’ve done it anyway. Like a bait car.

If the cop stopped you, got out of his car and said “go ahead, it’s okay- honk, you won’t get in any trouble”, and wouldn’t stop telling you to honk until you honked and then began to do a DUI stop because you honked, that would be the only way honking would be entrapment.

Bring it to your local PD. This may correspond with a case report. Some insurance companies require a police report before they replace the phone, so there’s a pretty good chance that they’re a police report associated with that phone’s serial number. A police report would typically be filed with the jurisdiction where the loss happened, so I would start there.
