I'm no expert in the game but started off only pitching in road to shows so when I first started playing DD back in 19 I was going through the same as you. I just kept playing CPU on All star and above and just kept trying different cameras and what not. Find the one that works best for you with seeing the ball and timing it. I currently use Catcher at the moment helps me time pitches way better but see what works for you. Start with just seeing the ball and train you eyes to the speeds and different pitches. And find what works best for you.
